So let's just say we go to Ventura without them...

Just floating a thought. I'm sure we could make a hell of a Saturday without the promoters and the fair grounds. Or Sunday, we'll take a straw vote. All we need is a field/lot and some roads. I'll bring a couple gallons of coffee.

A lot of you know this wouldn't be the first time I organized an unorganized affair.

Ventura auto fest just might be happening this year. According to the fairgrounds office, a deposit is in place for the date (don't remember right this sec) and the Campbells have sold the event to a group out of agoura/calabasas

will be posting hopefully later this week , more details on the event

Well, then, this will be a good thread to watch the progress. I remember you saying (along with plenty of agreement) that time had run out for a proper promotion. What with all the arrangements needed for sponsors, security, out of state travel, vendor booths, etc., I can't see much more than a cars 'n coffee type of deal.

However, I will stand down until I hear more. The date of that deposit would be some valuable info. The various "gruppes" that are used to piggy backing on an established event date are anxious.

I am because my car will be DONE!!!

The Santa Barbara chapter of the PCA meets at Camarillo Airport at 8:30 a.m. on the first Saturday of every month. We could crash that party...

I looked on the Fairgrounds Website calendar today and couldn't find anything about a Porsche function at all.

Months that start with "A" -April, August- are "alternate vehicle months" where there are some cool other cars like good Ferraris, and some-well... interesting/oddball cars. September would be ok, though.

You mean someone's actually finished a project car to the point where it can be called "done"? I thought the point was to throw money and time into these things until selling or wadding them up? I'd drive on over, but I'd hate to yahoo fuel all the way across the country . . .

OK, you last 2 posters, I did not get the car finished as of this minute. And, yes, it is true nothing is ever finished. But, I will be able to drive the car complete in a week or so if nothing else bad happens. Today I left for work with the color sanded and polished bumpers on a stand... and then an earthquake hits. I envisioned 2 bumpers on the ground pretty scratched up, but I was spared this time.

I'll wait to hear about the "new owners." I had no idea I might be opening up a subject prematurely, but whatever is going on, let's get behind it and support the show!!

I know the new owner of the restaurant at Camarillo Airport. I'm sure he'd love it if more people (and their cars) came to the meeting!

Maybe we could section off a part of the runway for an autocross. Nothing goes better with bacon and eggs than a few orange cones
