Good one!

Seriously, Ktownkris, It was not my intention to be rude. Tone of voice and facial expressions are hidden completely behind the written word. If you, and other Pelicanites, thought I was being insensitive, I apologise.
Fact remains, you posted in the wrong forum.
Hope your problem gets fixed.

Anyway, how about being more friendly to a new comer, even if he's in the worng place. I think we've all posted something here that's not really 911 technical at one time or another. It doesn't take much effort to point him in the right direction!

Matt
Well said Matt plus one for me.

Help him out!

I can help! Sell the Yugo, er, Boxster, and buy a 911 or 930.

The reason why the 986/996 forums are dead is because they really aren't "enthusiast" models.

Sure some of us Porschephiles own them but the MAJORITY of those models are bought by people who don't have a Fn clue and simply own it as a status symbol. They aren't buying components from Pelican, Rennsport, Smart Racing etc etc to try to extract every ounce of performance from the vehicle... probably for the beter since the drivetrain can't hack it anyays. They arent doing DIY.

Again, I said MAJORITY.

My 1st peice of advice to this guy would have been not to purchase a Boxster, my second would be to find a competent mechanic because it seems like whomever is doing the work doesn't have a Fn clue, either.
Really? This attitude is IMHO crap. People who believe the only real enthusiast car is an air cooled 911 should strap themselves into a Boxster S, Cayman or 996 and hit the track. Yes, my current Porsches are air cooled but I had plenty of fun in my Boxster S before I sold it and experienced a pro driver in my car from the passenger seat. I've spent plenty of days at the track with drivers of all kinds of cars. An enthusiast is not defined by what car they drive, it's what they do with it. Would you tell the guy in the stripped down Civic SI at the track he or she isn't an enthusiast?

Sorry about your Boxster mechanical problems and good luck getting them addressed. Enjoy your car!

Don't mind him (Todd). He's been 'round and 'round with some of us over this time and again. I think this is mostly just entertaining grenade throwing for him.

For many years one of the top Car mags voted the Boxer the most fun car made.

Now that they are getting down to less than a Carrera 3.2 they are getting popular w the DE/TT crowd. I would think the Boxer Cup should be pretty successful and we will see more Boxers coming to the DE's than SC/Carrera's.

This reminds me of how Porsche snobs used to treat the 914. Now a good rust free 914 is appreciating faster than the SC's and valued higher than many. It did not seem that long ago that a very nice 2.0 914 was $4k. Now they are over $10k.

All Porsches are good. I love the 911 experance but a well sorted 944 is a deal and mostly as fun when on the track.
