I know I can't wait and I am sure jeff can't either he has got to be about done with all the questions etc.

That really has no bearing on those ordering today.

I ordered at the end of November 2008 - paid in full on December 2nd, 2008 and have yet to receive my wheels. I have been told multiple times that my wheels should be shipping "this Friday", Friday comes and goes, no notification one way or the other, I send email asking for status, repeat sequence. This whole experience has been a big downer - for months now I've had to look at pictures from guys with their wheels and wonder why I don't have mine.

Sorry to hear about your troubles, 5+ 1/2 months, geeeez, that is truly horrible customer service, if the wheels take 6 months (or more) to build such is life, but they should be honest and just say so...

I know how you guys feel. I was in the same situation.

Trust me....the wheels are well worth the wait. If I were to do this over again I would have not sold my old wheels until the new ones arrived.

It'll be interesting to see how quickly the new orders ship (after all the originial orders have shipped). For those of you who are considering buying these wheels I'd say go ahead and do so but don't sell your current wheels till the new ones arrive. Then just forget about the new ones until they arrive! It'll be less stressful this way!

Yes, it sucks that it took long, but we knew these were still in development when we bought them. The missing link is the communication.

I am in the same boat. During the pre purchase email conversations I was told perhaps 5 to 6 weeks. I doubled that in my mind and figured it was still in the window for the car I am working on. I need the wheels for fitment of some of the body and brake ducting components. Contact now is only via persistent email and the replies are "terse" and uninformative.

Green 912 - sorry you're finding my emails "terse" (I'm assuming you're referring to my emails?) - they certainly aren't written that way from this perspective.

Uninformative is probably accurate, as I don't always have status updates to report - not every set shows progress each week, and I'm one link above the client on the chain of internal communication.

As far as the original orders taking 5.5 months, that certainly isn't bad customer service, that's just how it is when you are proving out different sizes of new product. These wheels certainly don't exist before they are manufactured, so there is no stock on a shelf to pull from.

Unfortunately as well, the order before any particular order might well be difficult sizing, unusual finish options, etc. which slow down the process for everyone. We've eliminated a lot of pesky options/variables for the greater good along the way, and we're working through the backlog.

And rest assured, even as I am attending to other things during the week, someone (well almost 5 someone's at this point) are employed full-time into making your wheels as fast as they possibly can be made without sacrificing the quality we require. There are rejections along the way, which eats time, but such is the nature of high end, limited volume manufacturing.

Actually, we're trying to increase the volume to straighten out these issues, and we're actually succeeding, to some extent already! By increasing our volume, the percentage of manufacturing effort that is dedicated to making these wheels for us, and ultimately, you, is increased proportionally. We think this product is good enough to warrant more volume, as we believe it will set the standard in this market in very short order.

As far as the time to delivery, I'm honestly reflecting the estimates we're getting from the facility, and I'm seeing the delivery times decreasing (I know this won't be apparent to you guys.) Still, if I have no progress on a particular order to report, I can't be very informative!

As always, we welcome any suggestions from you guys as to how we can better serve you in communication, but I rarely get them unless I visit the public forum (with a few appreciated exceptions, of course!)

Hang in there guys! Even myself (and 3 of my partners) are waiting patiently for our own wheel orders - and those are behind all of yours! Rest assured we're doing what we can to develop the process.

My order time is pretty close to 87coupe's, and I'd be pleasantly surprised if my wheels showed up by mid-June.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining. I don't need the wheels, and like others have pointed out, I purchased them pre-production. A longer wait than I anticipated, but I'm grateful someone's taking the time to make a quality product, and trying to do things the right way.

Communication could be a little more manufacturer-initiated, but the one time I PM'd for an update, I got it the next day. If the guy tells me everything he knows in one sentence, what more is there to say? Pithy, not terse, IMO.

As I said, if they take 6 months or more to build, such is life. What is inexcusably bad customer service is telling customer "87coupe" that "they will ship on Friday" week after week after week without shipping them...

I think if scott over at euro werks/zeffenhaus has the spread sheet with progress reports that would be the easiest way to get in touch so Keith may have the best solution for everyone on the cusp of happening. it frees Keith up along with jeff and all others behind the seens to get the project done and in full stocking status.

I've refrained from commenting - but if anybody orders these wheels and thinks they are going to get timely delivery either can't read, or refuses to believe it can happen to them. From Ed and a few others on the initial outlay - to the next round that ordered - this whole ordeal has been well documented. This is a Custom, Quality, low volume production - now throw several different finishes with different offsets -

Six months from now - when you've had your wheels for months - and the price is jacked up - you'll think back on how smart you are and how it wasn't so bad to wait for such a quality product.

Easily said by someone who was treated with decent customer service and has his wheels. When I ordered mine back in November it was represented that the turn around would be reasonably quick. If you go back and follow the history for last couple years we were told that they should be ready to ship in June of 08. I explicitly remember replying to that thread saying how nice it was going to be to get them as a birthday present to myself. Obviously that didn't happen, so when the word was finally given that they were ready to take orders the message was that it would be a short wait. BTW, my order is standard Carrera fitment in the same finish as yours.

Under federal law a seller has exactly 30 days to complete the transaction from the time of his/her receiving the money. Where are we now... I wouldn't be so cavalier about this if I were them.

And no, 6 months from now I'll look back and say this was the worst purchase experience I have ever had. I hope I wont have to be dealing with a lawsuit and the FBI doesn't have to visit Mathews, NC. The sad part is all it would have taken is a phone call or email every so often to let me know that they are actively working on fulfilling their obligation.

Listening to some of you defend this makes me want to puke.

Brandon, I haven't gotten an update on your wheel set since our emails on 5/6/09. I'm not sure what to tell you right this second - awaiting a status update, as usual. I'm happy to let you know what I know as soon as I do!

If you recall, you were pretty close when we last spoke - in finishing, in fact!

I hope you don't feel like you've gotten misinformation since you and I have been communicating... I know that you were chapped by some verbal deadlines that were missed prior to our first conversations - I sincerely hope you've experienced an improvement in communication since I've been on it!

Actually Brandon - I am waiting on my second set too of which I ordered and paid for around the same time frame as yours - I'm not discounting your experience - sorry if you feel that way.

First of all, I feel your pain. Secondly, if you didn't pay until November, then your leadtime is comensurate with what the rest of us experienced, so don't think you're being singled out.

As to your citing of the law and such, I think you're barking up the wrong tree. I don't think it would be hard to think of many products where one has to pay in advance for something that is custom made. I think Jeremy summed it up perfectly the other day-these aren't off the shelf items.

Your gripe about communication is valid, but to dwell on this being the worst experience ever does no good.

I guess I just gave you more reason to puke.
