Engine Serial#

serial read's 6640113 can anybody tell me what its out of, it looks like its got possibly a #1 in front of it any help would be appriciated

That engine is from either a coupe or Targa '74 Carrera 2,7. It is a type 911/83 MFI engine, the same type as used in the '73 Carrera. Do you have a photo of the serial # stamping?

I will take a picture and post it in the next couple of days I just looked at it again and it looks like it has the letters AT in front of the serial# but its late and my old eyes are tired but the stamping is definitely 6640113, thanks for the info

Still not able to take a good picture I leave in the dark and get home in the dark but I will get one tomorrow at some point, what is the value for this motor it has carbs on it now

Interesting. The stamping 'AT' would indicate you have a Factory replacement case for the original case from a '74 Carrera 2,7. Check out this thread from the Early 911 registry. Does the stamping on your engine look like the second photo in the tread?

Also, does the engine have the type # stamped on it? It should be type 911/83.
