winter projects.

Well all, winter is almost here for us New England folk so time for projects. I am goig to start my prep for auto-x and de events next season. For starters the suspension is going to be beefed up with bigger Torsion bars, HD billstiens and varrious other goodies. I will also put in some new racing seats and such. I purchased the weltmeister harness bar but was currious as to where the lap portion of the harness connects to. will I have to drill holes in my beloved little red? any suggestions to an inexpensive 4 point harness that will mount to the harness?

It's mid-November here in Chicago and the temp is in the mid-60's. I'm sorry I put my motorcycle away.

This winter I'm planning to replace the carpeting in my 1987 911. I'm in the process of getting samples from 3 carpet places.

In addition I'm planning to send out my Fuchs to be refinished and install new tires to get ready for next season's autoX.

Cool

Doofdog, this is what I did to install the lap belts.
The one on the left, you could use the factory mounting point. One the right side, I drilled a hole for the eye bolt at the center tunnel behind the seat. Watch for the fuel lines. Get a backing plate for the bolt. The hole could be covered by the carpet if you decide to sell your car later. Schroth makes 4-pt. harness and is pretty popular, but I like their 5-pt. It's more expensive, but money well spend.

Porsche Crest Seat Belt fix

If you don't want to drill any holes, buy the Brey-Krause seat belt mounts for both sides of the seat. They mount to your factory seat belt points and allow the competition lap belts to snap in and out. Also go with the 6 vs. 5 point system. The sub belts mount underneath you seat rail mounting points.

Torsion bars, bushings and camber truss are my winter projects.

Fiske FM5 or FM10 wheels, Bremo Big Red brake upgrade, and new windshield with 964 rubber. Hopefully modify the OEM front valance to place brake duct intake in place of the OEM fog lights.

All in preperation for my summer project: 3.6 transplant or Paxton SC. I haven't made up my mind.
