Not super-familiar with the Android OS yet but I think they play straight MP3s. The sound file is on my website http://www.race-tones.com/917page.html and if you have trouble downloading it, feel free to PM me with an email and I'll send it to you.

I wish I could get that 911notify 3 second clip to play as a ringtone for texts. I have it as an m4r file on the desktop of my Mac, but can't seem to get it into iTunes.

ITunes doesn't allow custom notification tones
I've tried and begged and pleaded with them to no avail. If it's any consolation, supposedly the Ios 4.2 will have more notification tones so we can go from lame and lame to more lame and lame.

Someone posted a comment (on youtube) that they thought it was not a 917 but a 908 (since the 908 was the camera car) I kinda doubt that.

Does your phone support MP3 ringtones? You should be able to simply connect it to your computer and transfer it over although I've heard that Verizon likes a certain type of MP3 file. Try the standard one and if it doesn't work, PM me and I'll shoot you a special Verizon version via email.
