Question Threshold

What type of adhesive for an '85 rubber threshold? The front corner was loose I lifted it and found rust around what appears to be some type of body plug. I am dealing with the rust but am not sure about the glue. The original adhesive looks like rubber cement, it was still sticky.

If I recall correctly, there was an article in 911 & Porsche World a few months ago about this. I think they used 3M Super Weatherstrip Adhesive. If someone has the article, I'm sure they can chime in.

Yes they did use a 2 sided tape for that install.

There was an article in Excellence about this job a few issues ago. The new threshold rubber strips appear to come with double sided tape on them. The originals must have been put on with a large amount of rubbery glue (PITA to get it all off). Using 3M monkey snot is going to really affix that rubber strip well. Should stay on for a long time.

Does anyone have a lead on the metal versions of the rubber threshold strip? Mine have shrunk and hardened and am looking for replacements. I've seen the aftermarket stainless steel versions, but I'd rather not spend that much. Some early 911s had them but I'm not sure they're still available.
