Show me your...Fan!
Hello everyone. Well, it's that time of year...winter project time. I am wanting to clean up the engine bay & I feel the best way is to clean up the cooling fan & housing. I am not sure what colours to go with, so I was hoping everyone could give me some inspiration.
I was thinking red fan/black housing or silver fan/black housing or maybe some other combination. Let's see those engine bays. This is what I'm staring with. A pretty stock 3.2L engine bay. Thanks for the ideas in advance.

Thanks for the help. I tried that. Why not get them all together in one thread.
Let"s see those engine bays. Cheers.

Shane,
Thanks again for the help. It would still be nice to see them all in one thread. What does your engine bay look like? Cheers, eh!

fan
Here's a fan on an engine (Wolverine's) I'm currently working on. Powder coated satin black with the center steel wooled and clear coated and yellow zinc plated pulley.
Regards, Al

I agree it would be nice to see all the fan pics in one thread, but there have been a LOT of posts on this, and server space isn't infinite or free.
Let's cut our host a break and post only new pics on this subject here. If the pics have been previously posted, providing links is probably best. (And it appears "snbush67" provided a lot of the good ones.) |

Fan and pully are powder coated in red, housing in sliver.
The engine is not completed yet, hope I can finish it during winter.

Silver housing, mat black fan. A bit low key but in keeping with the general engine color theme. Silver paint for brake calipers, mat black is barbeque paint. Was done three years ago and is holding up great.

Fan Paint...
Powdered painted. Removed the pulley halves and had them plated.

I tried painting the just pulley wheel (but not the parts touching the belt) with black paint, a disaster with it chipping off right away and looking ugly.
Did you paint the pulley wheel too? Can you show a present day photo with the pulley wheel attached?
