This might be better placed in the General Forum, since this forum is technical. Lots more traffic there, too.

Here's a a couple of photos of the finished engine compartment on this 2.7 project. The fan shroud needs to come back off for paint as it required changing when cracks were discovered during reassembly and I didn't want to hold up the engine install for the fan. Exhaust was backdated to pre '74. The fan side plates used to be very hard to find although reproductions are now availible. Joe from German Auto Dismantlers back east got me these when no one else could provide them. SSI stainless exhaust with the matching stainless Dansk dual in/out muffler. You can't see the Carrera front oil cooler and fan but they're there. Will likely modify the air box cover and add some Weltmeister go-fast red airbox straps. Maybe the new plated 3-piece fan shroud strap.

Great idea for a thread. I've been looking for a catch-all place for this and have found a disparate collection of related posts. Having it all in one place will be nice. I'll post some pics when I get done.

Question

Wow great pictures here, this is an excellent place for this thread.

Mr Perkles, what is up with the reservoir tip?

Tom Butler, Did you use the dupli color gold on your fan?

Very inspiring, I just went and drilled some holes in my fan strap and my Engine Cross Bar.

I take it you have heater-block-off plates ready to instal before you drive it.

My apologies, I was making light of your alternator nut pully cover. I think your engine is first rate.

I want one, where can I get a pully nut cover?

thanks for all the pics. I am at the stage of deciding colors for powder coating. I think that I will stay with the E green color from the fiberglass and use that on the valve covers, engine blade. Use glass 20% black for tinware, silver for the blower housing. Thanks!
