Nice transformation. What brand and model garage door did you use? I like the look.

Yup, but at least I've been able to only sip so far, as opposed to chugging it.

Thanks Dan!
Living in the NE sucks frozen you know whats in the winter....so I figure that once in awhile I have to take advantage of the quaint New Englandness and use it for a classic Porsche picture. One afternoon I was walking down my drive and saw the light filtering through the leaves and the intense yellow the sunlight created, and figured I'd better pull the 911 out for a portrait.

I've been working on adding some work space to a small mid-century modern garage. The -slow- progress has been documented over at the GarageJournal forum ("Denver MCM garage expansion"). I see a few fellow GJ'ers have also posted their garages here. The structure is essentially done and I'm now working on the Gulf Racing-inspired interior. Here is a photo of a large bench/desk that shows the laminate color scheme that I'm using for the cabinets.

A friend of mine operates a large-ish bodyshop in Hartford, CT and recently relocated to a huge new location, so got to do a complete fresh shop design....new everything. My biggest surprise on visiting after they'd been in operation for a few months was the total lack of the customary bondo dust that permeates and infiltrates every nook and cranny of most bodyshops. How is this achieved? Every tech uses a Festtool workstation, just like the one pictured above, for aal their sanding, scuffing etc...anything that produces airborne dust. Anyone who knows/likes bodyshops will realize what a complete improvement this is for the quality of the repair, not to mention the health of all the employees. Another neat new product/process (to me, at least), is in the booths and prep decks where they have "sticky" carpet-like tiles on the floor. These are made by Pig-Mat and just need a vacuum (an upright Hoover!) each morning, obviating the need to hose down the booth with a film of water to control dust. Apparently these last for a couple of months.
More briefly: nice Festtool work station RS! John. |

Vvkt68, nice collection & storage solution. Don’t see the garage door above the cars... does it roll up or what? Can you post a pic of the door itself (open & shut) if not too much trouble? Thx

Very cool, i see a couple of door panels now fit between the door lintel and the ceiling so that’s why the door doesn’t extend as far into the garage as usual. Will have to do some measurements in my garage tomorrow...
Thx for taking the time & trouble to take & post the pics, and welcome to the forum!
