Whatever/wherever - if only! Not here in the People's Republic of Arlington, Virginia, where everyone voted for Hillary.

With a setup like that, it sure looks like you could quit, sell half, and have all the time in the world to play with them until you're dead...

Unfortunately I couldn't afford to retire even if I sold everything.

When the input exceeds the outgo, the downfall is the upkeep. But yeah, that looks like Disneyland in there.

![]() That is very cool! To be honest, at first glance I thought your pics were faked, especially seeing picture #2. The effects make it look like it was a "model mini garage", I like it!! I'm also experiencing garage space envy.... is that an old hangar?Cheers Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

bugstrider: I agree the 2nd pic looks like a model. It's the Instagram filter.
The other two pictures are not filtered, just my iPhone. The shop is a pole barn with insulated steel skin. When we were shopping for a new home the wife got the house she wanted...but not before I saw the barn

I have been building my small 20'x20' garage in my backyard over the last 2.5 years. It is my dedicated work/play space and I love being able to spend time in there. It is fairly unique in that is has a raised planter bed garden on the roof, uses salvaged steel sash industrial windows, repurposed 1950's steel kitchen cabinets for my work bench, and lots of other fun details. I've been having as much fun designing, sourcing materials and building it as I do working on and driving my 911's. If you want all the details, you can check out my build thread on Garage Journal - New 20 x 20 garage/shop in Seattle - The Garage Journal Board

Well, you definitely pulled it off. Has a very unique coolness about it. It rocks the cars nicely. Bravo my friend, BRAVO! The Instagram photo filter is a neat thing. Although I have no experience using it, I did see a 912 on the 912Registery that was taken of a Bahama yellow car in a big grass field. The effects made it look like a matchbox car. Rather cool yet very vintage all wrapped into one. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Wow! That workshop with the workbench/window and lift is amazing. The feng shui is strong. I like the idea of less is more. It's very compact and well thought out with the big roll up.

![]() Lucky for me I took 1/10 of my lot to build a 22x24 garage...wish it were bigger and/or had a wider than 10' driveway.

The 993 lives outside for now until I sell the blue turbo. Then it gets a spot in the garage. I'm kinda limited to just two play cars by this setup, but it is as big as I could build due to lot coverage rules.

As much as I love the 993, I'm not sure I'd put one in place of that backdated G-body with a 3.3L Turbo engine...but I guess if you already have that gorgeous green car...

I don't think I can compete with all the PMs you'll be getting soon, but I really like that blue thing.
That green car of yours is one of my favorites of all time, and I am appropriating much of its design into my own project. Apart from the absurd Singer 4.0, a 3.8 EFI ITB is about as good as it gets. Hopefully you'll start a thread with some specs, costs, and decisions. My 3.6 will need to be rebuilt, and I'm trying to figure out if I should be stupid or very stupid. Thread hijack over... |

Tremelune,
The new motor is sitting under my storage shelves waiting for installation. I hope to get to that later this month. Currently I'm waiting on a few more parts to arrive and finishing up some other projects. When I get to the installation, I'll update my build thread with more details. For now there is some preliminary information posted here - http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/871698-budget-singer-911-a-5.html To keep things appropriate to this thread, here are some pics of how I unloaded the motor from the back of a pickup using the steel beam of my carport as my pick point for a comealong. Loaded up for a trip from my work to my house. ![]() I was so busy getting the motor safely unloaded, I forgot to get a shot with the motor hanging in the air. ![]() I used a lifting strap around the steel beam, linked with a shackle as the attachment point for the comealong. ![]() Here is the motor safely put to bet under my storage shelves and awaiting installation.
