When I pulled into my driveway this evening I parked next to this Honda minivan:
Pretty darn tiny. ![]() Oh wait, that's not a minivan, that's a subcompact Honda Fit. ![]() ![]() Cars have grown a bit. ![]() -Dan

Ahh but good things come in small packages. My biggest challenge is seeing around all the behemoth SUVs on the road these days when drive my 911s. YMMV

Nah, he's just my hero.
![]() Yep. 15 year Navy man. Sadly, I have nothing to do with the great gas mileage conspiracy. That's a different department. Sometimes when I try to find my 911 in a parking lot, and can't, or park it next to a modern "subcompact," or when in traffic looking under the Ford Expedition in front of me... the size difference really hits me . (hopefully his bumper, about eye level on me in the 911, won't also hit me)A small car from 1969 is microscopic next to today's subcompact! You want to really see the difference, compare a '70s Honda cvcc to today's civic: it's unreal. -Dan

I had the same Revelation a couple of months ago when I parked the Boss next to the targa. I wish I could shrink the Boss to the size of the 911. That would make a wicked vehicle.

Park a new Mustang next to a 64 1/5 - 66 Mustang, or a 67-69 Camaro next to a new one, and you get the same kind of thing.
The Mustang may be styled like the old cars, but it's a LOT larger (& heavier). The newer 911's are larger than the older ones, but they have remained sports cars. How nice would a new Camaro, Mustang, or Challenger be if it was closer to the size & weight of the old ones? |

It looks like I could almost park it in the bed of the truck:

I'm working on my garage right now. When I get done (hopefully this weekend) I'll post pics.
Before I bought the 911 I could pull my Titan crew cab in the garage but the nose touched the front wall and the garage door had about 2" of rear clearance. Now when I park the 911 I have a new workbench, about 5 feet of workspace in front of the car and plenty of room on the sides and rear.

I can't tell you how many times I've walked out of a store looking for my 911 and assumed it had been towed or stolen (I'm not convinced there's a difference between the two) simply because it's obscured by other cars and I couldn't see it.
Also my wife prefers that I park the 911 in our main garage and keep my S8 in a rented garage down the block. She says the 911 is so small it's easier to fit her car.

One of the very few cars that don't dwarf a 911:

I think that mini may be taller than that 911!
Try that next to a new mini. It doesn't work anymore. ![]() -Dan
