Just installed the "Vintage" LED replacement lamps in my Carrera 3.2 from etarga this weekend and I am very pleased with the results. I originally tried LED replacements from SuperBrightLEDs.com, but the only offerings they had were amber or blue. I went with amber, thinking these would be close to 2700K CCT like the stock lamps. But, they were definitely lower on the color temperature scale than that and were more "orange" than the stocks. They also appeared to be no brighter than stock. After putting the "white" lamps from etarga in, I noticed a much brighter output in the color temperature that I originally searched for when I tried to find LED replacement lamps. I am very pleased with the output and color of these replacements. The only shortcoming is the slightly uneven light distribution which has to do with the original gauge design and not the replacement LEDs. Although they are pricey compared to the first LEDs I ordered, they are worth the cost because they perform so much better.

Also, Gummi Pflege works wonders for lubricating the rubber trim rings around the instruments and getting them in and out in the future. Round 2 was much faster and easier than Round 1.

I like the second of the two gauges. Looks nice and clean and crisp.

Sorry I am a little confused; is the second picture "Vintage" or "White"?

I thought I ordered vintage, but they do appear more white than vintage based on earlier posts. Etarga will have to chime in. I do prefer them to stock as the needles "pop" more with the white light.

Just to stir the pot, here's my instrument panel with Superbrights ($1.49 ea.) installed.
IMHO, I think all pictures can be deceiving unless they show, in one picture, a side by side comparison of one solution vs. another, as even a relatively dim light output can be made to look good and bright just by forcing long shutter speeds, more exposure compensation, etc.

I really can't say that these LED's put out more light than the original incandescent ones, but they certainly provide more contrast and are thus more readable.

Anyone knows how or if the bulbs in the 964 gauges can be replaced with these new LED's?

Fellas, just received an email from eTarga, he is out of town on Corporate Business and has limited to no wifi until next Tuesday. Please be patient, this is not his main business and must make his salary job his main priority but he will get to you as soon as he can.

I installed a set of Jake's LED's. Amazing how much of a difference they make over OEM. Replacing the headlight switch & fusing the instruments was also in the mix. The speedo guys are way too pricey on their offering for something that is not used all that much I'd say. A lot of us try not to drive that much at night in the first place for numerous reasons, but when we do it's nice to be able to read the instruments isn't it?

Another satisfied customer

I just installed the Vintage set and I'm very pleased with the results. They are the same warm white colour as the stock bulbs, but much brighter. They dim smoothly as well. Easy to retrofit - the hardest part was getting a couple of the gauges out, so I took the opportunity to apply some rubber conditioner to the seals before installing back in the dash.

i have a question, i bought jakes white led setup. but haven't had a chance to install. has anyone tried his red led setup on a stock black gauge setup. how did it show up and was it bright enough? jake has already said he'd take back the whites if i decide to go with the red's.
what do youse think?

Similar to everyone's pictures here is my install, one hour later, listening to Chaka Khan and taking my time done. Time certainly flies, it took me over a year to get around to installing these bulbs..wow.

The best for the tools for this job are the plastic trim set from Harbor Freight Tools ($10) and a few jeweler's flat edged screwdrivers:
