Installing Patrick Motorsports Throttle Cable in 3.6 Conversion
I have a 3.6 conversion using the Timmin's kit and recently purchased the Patrick Motorsports throttle cable. Has anyone installed this cable? Any insight on how to do this as the cable came with no instructions.
I had my throttle stick a couple of times last year and I've heard this cable is a better way to go so I would like to get it installed before I start driving it this year. We've already had several days around 80 degrees so I'm getting the P car fever! Thanks,

The easiest way to install the sleeve in the tunnel is to thread a small 10 mm od washer on to the pedal end after removing the ball socket. Leaving room on stud behind the washer attach the tube to the rod with tape. After prepped remove the rod from tunnel from engine bay side. Keep in mind you may have to tug slightly to knock out the bushings in the center tunnel. The tube replaces these. Pull untill tube is just flush with the flange. Doing it this way allows you to not remove the parking brake and everything else. Installing cable is same as normal except slack is removed at the black theaded sleeve at firewall.

Give PMS a call - did you buy directly from them? I have found their service spotty at best, but if you can get someone on the phone, they could be a good resource.
I used a std. 3.6L throttle cable on my conversion. It basically replaces the solid rod through the tunnel, has a stopper/adjuster where it exits the rear of the tunnel (that I fabricated), then goes up to the throttle body. Tom

barnein,
Your advise was perfect! Taped the sleeve to the rod and pulled it straight through with no issues. The cable is much smoother to operate than the previous setup. I also think I'm getting more throttle but it still doesn't give me full throttle where it clicks the microswitch on the throttle body. I adjusted the cable and even shortened my throttle stop at the pedal but when my daughter pushes it all the way down, you can still move it further by hand and hear the click. Should it close the microswitch by pushing down the pedal all the way? Thanks,
