I was looking for info on something the other day and I came across a thread with a discussion that Ron was in and I was thinking how much I miss his posts. There is a thread with his car loaded with firewood -- that one cracks me up.
Same goes for Early S Man and Grady. We stand on the shoulders of giants.

ron was one of the greatest men I even knew. our friendship grew over many years and 3am discussions about speaker placement, 911s, how to keep the ladies happy, etc......
not many know but when his cancer first went into remission he was already planning another ride in a Buick Riviera he had been eyeballing......after my sharing with him the local knowledge I picked up in newfoundland at the Targa he was intrigued and was dead set on going and we were already mapping it out......it was soon after he left us... cheers ron....

That car has seen more mileage and good times than half the Porsches in the universe.
Ron, compared to your "Big Big Ride" we are punks, with our "Cars and Coffee" outings that barely warm up the oil.

Rons car is at Bills shop in Freeport right now...
I wont name names, but prior to it coming under Bills care, his widow sent the car to another shop to be sorted after sitting for so long.. The other place... sent warning flags up with his widow..I'm not sure if if the car was affected by Sandy damage... In any event a laundry list of fixes has been put together, and the estate (widow) owns the car.. Every time I'm in the shop I see the car tucked away,waiting for decisions to be made regarding how to proceed... Ron did his own wrenching most of the time, and was meticulous....and wasn't a customer of Bills, but he did stop by the shop often to BS, and pick Billys brain , he was a character.

Another couple years gone by, and yet memories of Ron still vivid as yesterday. Every time I smell unburned hydrocarbons, like when I start the car in the winter, I think of Ron's phrase "eye stink" which perfectly described it.
