Today I discovered that the fuse holder for my fuel pump fuse was loose, and that was the culprit for my intermittent starting problems. Bending the prong upwards to make a tighter fit helped and so far, so good!

I have about 10 different squeaks and rattles I now need to tackle in the passenger compartment, starting with removing the aftermarket dash pad which is responsible for probably 7 of them....

After taking the Honda in for the silly TPMS light(dealer must reset the system) I am going to check the heater ducting on the SC. I get heat but not like some state they get. I may have a clog somewhere.

Temps here are going to be above freezing all week with little precip.

Update> found the DS duct from the rocker panel to the front trunk air distribution plenum crushed. It fell apart in my hands while trying to assess the situation. Luckily, I had some of the ducting albeit a bit short so I spliced 2 sections together to make the run. Getting the new pipe on the plenum in the truck was a total PIA!!! I ended up unbolting the box so I could get just the right angle to get the hose on AND make sure the rubber boot in the footwell stayed in place. Lots of bad words and some blood but I got it. I just returned from a test drive and it is much better. Still not a lot of air movement but it is hot.

Went from this:

To this:

Took me a long to time to get to this point. The upholstery has been 100% diy and I am super happy with the results.

Very nicely done!
I just went thru the whole process myself a few months ago. The feeling of accomplishment you get when it is done is awesome!

btw- I ran a strip of led lights in front of that panel and the front strip and wired it to the interior lighting and it turned out really nice. Lights up the back by well.

Not the best pictures but you can get the idea.

Very nice job as well!! Good idea on the LED's! I'll have to around for some photos of the old upholstery, it was a huge mess where the PO had used all sorts of glue and duct tape to hold it together.

Porsche Crest

I lubed all the sway bar rubber bushings with silicone spray today. Getting the cap off the spray can is not for the faint at heart. Phew!

replaced the clutch cable and adjusted the clutch. A huge improvement in pedal feel and lowered the engagement point quite a bit.

Put my interior back together again. I had to remove the seats couple of weeks ago for getting them to local professional for fixing. All vinyl strips in bottom parts were replaced (original Porsche material used). I have to say that they look like new now! While the seats were out I stripped off everything I easily could and cleaned all fabrics etc. I also replaced all bushings beneath the gear shifter and the notorious coupler as well. Shifts really good now as all the play is gone! I also cleaned and greased shifter and pedal assembly. The interior is now so clean that I took my shoes off when I went into the car Too bad that I'll have to wait for spring to see how it shifts in traffic.. Looks very promising already.

Thumbs up New carbon fiber bling

I've been working with 2 friends on creating some beautiful quality carbon fiber parts for my 87 911 coupe. We received and test fitted some pre production pieces over the weekend. We developed driver and passenger side floorboards. The test fit is perfect. They drop in really easily without any adjustments. I'm test driving them now and after 2 days, they are dead on.

Driver side (click on link for larger pic):
310 engineering carbon fiber

Passenger side (click on link for larger pic):
310 engineering carbon fiber
(the carpet is pulled over on the left side of the board)

These are so shiny, it's nearly impossible to take a good picture of them.

We also received the engine compartment fuse cover prototype. The fit is perfect on the first try. The finish of the part isn't final. It's only a prototype.
Once the molds are done, the parts are going to be super shiny like the floorboards. We apply a K1 high gloss which makes the parts really pop.

Our parts are molded using HEAT and pressure. The addition of the autoclave (heat) ensures full lamination and bonding of each layer. These carbon parts will not delaminate. They are also stronger than cold processed CF while being thinner. More to come

Jerome,

Look great except I would not buy one if it come with the "310 Logo" as is (white on black). It needs to be a bit more discrete.

Arrived today, a 50th Bday gift from my Dad who got me into motorsport & cars well before I can remember.

I was lucky enough to have him over to Australia from Canada for a visit last year after having not seen him in over 20 years. Luckily he was able to have a drive of and enjoy the car which is saying something as he is and has always been a British sports car fan.

Probably the main reason I love German cars LOL

Cheers Al
