Drove it and just about to break 279k miles....did replace the lump with a 930-10 about 40k ago with less miles on it .... about 120k bottom end today and 40k top...never top up between oil changes.
Funny thing to, as I was thinking today...that crappy CIS is only 38 years old and has never let me down, runs like a champ at all altitudes, runs great.....just like the rest of the design.

If I were flying solo, I could break my bike down far enough to stuff it in the trunk.
When my wife goes with me, there's just no way.

Plus the rack will allow me to make a friend.

My shift coupler cover was carpet covered and dented. I made a new one.

Fixed the broken trigger on my door handle. Stole the parts off a donor handle. Also replaced a leaky valve cover gasket and changed the oil.

Porsche Crest

I have my motor out to replace the clutch, so I’m tightening up some stuff while it’s out. No issues and all buttoned back up.

Checked and adjusted the valves.
Checked tourqe of head bolts, rockers etc.

About to depart for the upholstery shop to drop off dash pad, defroster vent, door garnish rails and steering wheel for reupholstery. Everything fits quite nicely with the passenger seat out...

Interior refresh

Replaced carpet with a lightweight RS style keeping the backseat shelf and side panels. Added the rennline floorboards and appbiz RSR style door panels. Everything came out great. The Vegas heat was no help in this project 🤣

Test fit engine tin.

This was not fun, I’m glad it’s done.

Today's list:

1. Finished reassembling the tach & putting it back in the dash (now with a functioning CASIS light - yes, I know, I know...)

2. Reassembled the steering column & ignition switch assembly now that I have the shear bolts (thank you Pelican).

3. Reassembled the steering column switches, housing and steering wheel, reminding myself why it is a good idea to disconnect the battery - the horn is LOUD in a small garage. (Then took off the steering wheel and put it on again after a quick test drive so it was actually on straight.)

4. Because during the above work I noticed some HVAC hoses that were not fully/properly assembled to the dash vents, I fixed those, devising a new tool to align the kick panel lower screws (a long length of coat hangar wire put into the target screw hole before assembling the kick panels - very helpful).

5. Adjusted the parking brake - a real PITA since I had to remove the disks to free up the adjusters.

6. Topped off the A/C charge, reminding myself once again that I have to make a more permanent performance improvement to the A/C. Vent temps 18-20°C (at best) are just not cutting it in a black/black car.

It is NICE being retired and setting my own hours.

Tomorrow I'll probably be spending some quality time with the random orbital polisher.

Installed some Rennline LED headlights. Decided to paint the rings satin black rather than trying to match the dirty white of the warp. What do you think?
