I decided to go ahead with the idea to uncover the tunnel. Freshen-up the paint and fitted the mat. Look great so I'll be doing it all the way to the front.

Underneath the console, which I'm deleting, there is a couple of holes that could be cover with a cover similar to the coupler one.

After weeks of thinking about how to do it and getting some very good advice, I modified the (anonymous aftermarket) hub that came with my wood steering wheel to work on my '69T, installed it, and hooked up the horn. All good. Then I threw the black-painted front bumperettes into a bin of brake fluid....

Getting ready for another 3 day road run this weekend.

The rear wheels needed a rebalance so they are at the tire shop for a sleep over. Should be ready tomorrow morning. Before people start ragging on me............ there is a block in front of the left front wheel.

Did a wash and detailing. Decided to take a scotchbrite pad to the polished FUCH lips. I think it looks better toned down a little. Should be easier to maintain too.

Even the cat had to get in on the action. Well, more looking cute instead of helping out. Thankfully she doesn't drink my beer.

Until Rennline does one, this will do.

Next is to cut a hole for small tray and maybe a "cup holder"... Oh the humanity

Installed Seine gate shift kit in my short shifter. I like the feeling of pulling out of 5 knowing you're in the 3-4 shift plane. I haven't had a chance to really test it due to rain but plan to as soon as the sky clears up and the roads are dry.

Just finish the same process. Love how short and fast the 2nd and 3rd shift is (probably due to the Seine springing back to the 3rd/4th plane).

Don't put you cover back just yet and carry a 13mm wrench in the car. Mine was good one day, the next day it started alright but all of a sudden I could not get in 1st or second...

As you can see below, I decided not to put the boot back. It will look better once I get the tab welded.

I welded and painted mine already and the boot is back on. I'm going to do a little tweaking on the coupler as I think I can get it shifting better than it is currently. It's pulling a little hard into 2nd but when I was bumping R coming out of 5 it shifted smoother from 1 to 2. So I think I went a little bit the wrong way. Part of the fun is adjust, drive then adjust again to get just the right feel for your way of driving.
