A couple of caveats when choosing product:

The hydraulic mechanism on some lift/dollies can sometimes go bad. Confirm you can get it rebuilt. Think hydraulic floor jacks made overseas and parts/service availability.

Other versions use a mechanical ratcheting mechanism to raise/lower. Seems like this type would have a longer service life.

The rollers that support the tires on some could be too narrow for your vehicle tires. If tires are wider than the roller width, it'll be more difficult for the jack to operate if at all. I've seen this difference between the current and the older version of the HF lift/dolly.

I have a set and love them. I opted for the ones with a nice solid rubber oversized wheel with nice wheel bearings so the car pools very easily around the garage. One person is all you need to move and position the car. Mine are the ones you need to jack the car up and slip the dolly under the tire. I think the entire set was $200 delivered from Car Dolly, USA. I liked that they were made in the USA, the pad the tire sits on is a nice piece of aluminum and cradles the tire and the wheels are high quality.

One more photo of the cradle upside down so you can see the wheels:

The dude hasn't logged on to Pelican since 2010, or posted in this thread since 2002, so you might be waiting a long time for an answer.

The car is probably long gone when his wife realized how much it could be sold for.

Looks like Frequencydip wants Pelican to carry his product, hence the revival of this thread.

Definitely go jacks! The ones that don't have jacks built into them certainly work, but require three times the effort.
