16" Wheels for '73?

Will 16 x6 and 16 x 7's fit my 73 without modifications?

Yes.
Tire size has some limitations. Stay at or smaller than a 205/50-16.

Thanks for your input. If I stay with the 205's, will these rub at all? -Rich

205's rubbed on mine; I dropped back to 195's. Ride height and camber adjustments may be critical.

Rubbing will depend on your ride height, how stiff a suspension you've got and how hard you drive the car. Because the extra inch on 7s is added to the outside aspect of the rim rather than inside, you've got potential to rub anything wider than 195 with the wrong setup.

205/60 15s rubbed on my car on 15X7 with a stiff suspension.

I have 16X6 and 16X7 on my 73.5.....Right rear rubs when I have a passenger aboard......No issues by myself........

16x7s all around with 205s in the front and 225s in the rear work on my 73 but the fenders are rolled. FYI not all tires are created equally. I bought a set of 225 Hoosiers that would not fit safely and they are, by my highly calibrated eyeball, a full inch wider than other 225s...

My current favorite though are these:
Falken Azenis RT-615K

Which come in a 215 that might work well for you too.
