Hello to all of you who have been following my dad's restoration.
I am Tim's daughter, Shelley. It is with great sorrow that I am coming here to ask for guidance. My dad passed away on Thanksgiving morning after a two year battle with leukemia. His family is devastated. And we are dedicated to completing this project in his honor. We are car literate, but this project is well beyond the scope of our skill sets. As you can see, my father was very detail oriented and organized. We have several notebooks, spreadsheets, and labeled parts in boxes. We are in middle Tennessee. Is there someone we can reach out to that can help get us started? We appreciate any and all guidance. -Shelley 2016 Acura RDX 2002 Subaru WRX

I am really sorry to hear about your dad, it's a terrible loss. I am far from tennessee, but will gladly help with pictures or advice. Our 911 went through a similar restoration. Maybe others that are closer will be more help.

So sorry for your loss. I would reach out to the local chapter of the Porsche Club of America. Someone there will get you in touch with locals that can do the work.

I am so sorry for your loss Shelley. We enjoyed engaging with your father’s trials, tribulations and successes for the past 13 years. He was a hero to many of us who aren’t as brave as he to take on a project like this.
Here is the link to what should be your local Porsche club chapter: https://msk.pca.org/ Best regards - Jim |

I'm sorry for your loss.
There's a shop called Air Cooled Classics in Knoxville TN. They specialize in porsches and do professional restorations. They're really good at documenting everything. Check out their work on Facebook or their website aircooledclassics dot co They are active on social media and really quick to repond. Their number is 865-671-9146 |

Thank you all so much for your suggestions. I reached out to the local Porsche club on Monday and am awaiting a response. I also sent a message to air Cooled Classics in Knoxville.
I’ll keep you posted! -Shelley

I'm so sorry for your loss. Just last night I (half jokingly) made sure that a friend would be the god parent to my mess of a project so that my wife wouldn't have to deal with it, but I have also seriously considered what options I have if I needed to make a big move or otherwise back out of my restoration project. This guy is a bit more convenient for me, but Tennessee probably isn't out of range. I spoke on the phone with him and I suspect that he would be able to take care of it and make you a reasonable deal.

The family is trying to get this car finished, not sold to a scrap dealer. So much of the hard work has been done here and it's time to see this car finished, not sold to someone whose sole goal is flipping back yard finds from families who don't know their value. Kinda gross you even posted that. Last edited by 3literpwr; 12-12-2024 at 06:46 PM.. |

If I was in TN my son and I would looking you all up pronto. Look up Chris Balich (sp?) or low budget dream car thread on here. He’s in Indiana but travels to TN often and I believe would know people local to you to help finish this for your family.

I’m very sorry for your loss.
William Knight is in Nashville, TN Although I’ve only spoken to him on the phone he has a solid reputation on Pelican. His user name is Knightrace Email: knightrace911@hotmail.com Ph: 615.969.4917 I would start there if he is convenient to you or at least call him for a referral nearer to you.
