I am considering doing a C2 conversion on my 83 widebody cab. Can somebody give me a heads up on where to get a good fitting kit at a reasonable price?
Thanks civil-tech@look.ca

Thanks Wayne

Yes the nose is two piece, I bought most of the stuff from a guy in New york that raced cars and he was converting to a 996 body, I ask if it was better bodies before i bought it and he was insulted, I guess there is some guy in new england that builds bodys and stuff but doesnt advertise, clise is his last name i sure wish i knew i get asked everytime i drive it or post a picture, it actualy has a undertray with louvers really cool but with the car a little on the low side, its real hard to get in driveways and here in indiana the streets are crap so i really have to pay attention, im going to tweeks next sunday and im trailering it because of the nose, i hope to put a 3.6 in it this fall with big reds, now that would be cool, Kevin o yea Betterbodiesmotorsport.com has one that is simular

To follow up the only problem i have had is the rockers were on a race car, (nose, bumper, rockers and rear fenders, lights) so they used screws that showed on the out side i started to put them on but didnt like them so i bought a pair from BW that you can attach without anything showing, and they are two piece, if you do a conversion, like i said earlier do the lights, it really sets the car off, and buy all the parts they sell like bumpers heat shields etc, the rear bumpers heat shield actualy helps to hold the bumper in place, its usualy like 75 dollars a bumper, you will spend a bunch of time trying to figure it out, so I really dont know who made any of the parts, the front bumper has the hook welded right in from who ever made the bumper, you may try asking the guys in new england who made it, Kevin

Personally, I love the C2T look
![]() I was considering that for my car too, but decided to stick with the look of that era and just leave the rear bumpers and fit a 930S front spoiler. Maybe at a later stage I may fit a full C2 fibreglass Turbo 'S' body kit ![]() I think RarlyL8 has that exact same kit on his red dragon?!?!? I say go for it! NRAuto & BW Motorsports sell very high quality kits that fit really well. Merv '89 Turbo Carrera Sport Cab |

The C2 Turbo is also my favorite body type. Here's a pic of my 1975, before and after. Just got it back 2 weeks ago and I can't believe how good it looks in Speed Yellow. I still get up in the middle of the night and go downstairs to look at it!

Michael, that looks SO sw333t !!!
All you need now is forced induction to compliment that bad boy ![]() Looks like a very neat/tight fit. Who did you buy the kit from? Any reason why you went with the rubber surround turbo tail and not the Turbo 3.6 Turbo 'S' tail (fully fibreglass and can be color-coded)? Looks fantastic! |

>Is that a 930 Turbo "S" Front Bumper? >What model rocker panel is that? The front bumper and rocker panels where originally designed by Strosek. Several companies, such as B.W. Motorsports, now sell these parts. If you have a copy of Excellence lying around you should be able to locate this kit. I always felt Strosek made some of the finest Porsche body conversions. Smooth and clean. RarlyL8.... I think your ride looks fantastic.

WydRyd,
Thanks for the compliment. This is my 1st 911, been wanting it since I was 9yo!! The dream finally came true 20 something years later. Anyway when I bought the car it already had been converted to the older shape turbo, all steel and factory 930 fenders, clean job and had a factory wing. That is the reason why I kept the wing, plus I was on a budget as far as the whole project/body/paint. I like it a lot, since I've gotten the car back, people keep coming up and making compliments, so I guess the job was done pretty well. As far as the kit, my friend who sold me the car and is a big Porsche enthusiast (he has a nice shop here in Beverly Hills) hooked me up with a good deal on the body kit (rockers and front/rear bumpers). I guess one of his friends actually makes them. The more I look at pictures of C2 Turbos with the GT2 wing, the more I'm tempted. I think I'll take the plunge when money permits. --Axeman |

It's down right shocking how different these cars look with a C2T type widebody conversion. They go from "cool" to "hoooollly ***** look at THAT!".
I'm not sure I would do the GT2 tail on a cab car. The tail is right on the edge of too much as it is. With the top down it might look too unbalanced. Thom had one on his targa-to-cab widebody conversion. You might still be able to find a picture of it with the top down. If you do go with the GT2 wing you'll have to get used to the "ricer" jokes. Just a warning. I don't think the BWMotorsports rockers are a direct copy of anything else. I will say that quite a bit of work goes into properly fitting them.

Michael,
That car looks awesome! I can't believe it's the same car!! I really like the turbo tail. Don't change it, RUF prefer to use those rubber-lipped tails on their later model cars too. (I've clipped your image to a Pelican-friendly < 100k.) And I found two other pics of yellow 964/965s. And one we all hope never to see again...

Adam,
Thanks a lot! Actually I can't believe it's the same car either!! ![]() That's why I have to constantly go in the garage and look at it. The picture don't do justice either, those are the very 2 first pics I took when I brought the car back from the body shop. I'll post much nicer pics. As far as the wing, I personally like it a lot, the only problem is when I look at this picture with the GT2 wing, front spoiler and those Ruf wheels, it looks so badass, it's very tempting! What do you guys think of it? --Axeman

Thank all you gentlemen for your input. I have a copy of the latest excellence mag. and will start shopping. I am going to do a complete, front, back , mirrors, and lights.
Question for Rarley L8 ... Is yours fiberglass, carbon fiber or the flexible plastic? Any input on which to go with? The plastic is more "oem" style but is probably more work to install. Do you have a picture of the back of that red baby? Thanks Wayne

All the parts are thick fiberglass. They stand on their own and don't need any extra support bracketry. The fit and finish is very good, no extreme mods were required for installation.
The rockers are a different story. No attachment points were molded in so this had to be done. I had stock bodyshop fasteners used. We had to drill holes in the rockers and cut out the flare area for the brake cooling ducts in front of the rear wheels. I didn't like doing this but it had to be done to do the job right. I'll get you a rear picture up later this evening.
