Closing in on 1 Month Anniversary inventory advice
Well I've had the car a few weeks now, things could not have gone any smoother the way I see it. Ive driven the car maybe 2,000 miles (1200 on the trip home from purchase) Ive changed plug wires (clewett) Plugs, oil and filter, fuel filter, fuel accumulator. Also looked inside the valve covers to get a look at what I'm dealing with.
The accumulator was the first " Issue" Ive have along the way and promptly diagnosed the issue with reading through some book and researching the forum. Ive started to create a small inventory in the garage with a few parts and some future projects to kind of zero the car out and make it mine. Next on the list will be to replace the shifter bushings with the kit from pelican. Some advice I was looking for and maybe this topic has been discussed for new owners before. What are some items I should have in the car at all times? (tools,RELAYS,FUSES etc???) Also what are some items I should start to start to accumulate at the home base that are really handy to have on hand. Ive taken the car to a couple of car shows meet a P guy or 2 and just had such an unbelievable time tinkering on the car and cleaning, swapping out seats between recaros and factory seats. Its been a fabulous 3-4 weeks withe the 911sc. Ive joined the PCA in the Maverick region, but was curious as to getting in touch with some folks in the DFW or even other nearby areas to get to know, eat lunch go for sunday drives, talk cars, soak up advice and the such. Thanks alot for all the effort many of you put in at this place, goes along way to help an old boy like myself out coming into the porsche world. My 3 kids are in love with the car, and ive spent more time with my dad the past few weeks then maybe the past 2 years combined working on the car. He comes from the muscle car era and never really got involved with Porsche and the like, however he is truly capitivated by the car just as I am, and I am blessed to have the best mechanic ive ever seen walking through this deal with me. Between books, Pelican parts members, my internet skills (which are not that great but far excede my dads) and my fathers mechanical skills we are going to have a great time with this car maintaining it and replacing the few flaws the car has, like the dash, and rear speaker panel, and a few other minor issues. In the next couple of years were gonna look for a donor to start a RS or ST project which is really exciting as we will have 4 generations working on the project. Any ways if any of you have some good tips for things I need to start getting stored up please share or any other information you think I might need to know about please share. Thanks in advance Have a great drive--Blake now ill try to upload a photo from my phone ![]()

Beautiful looking car! Enjoy it in good health and it's great to hear that the entire family is enthusiastic.
I'd always carry a spare relay or two, as well as some fuses. Electrical tape, wire, and a volt/ohm meter are also nice. I assume you have the factory tool kit with an extra fan belt as that's critical if it breaks. Over the last thirty some years of Porsche ownership, I've learned that they do wear out with time, but don't break down very often if properly maintained. I think you'll find plenty of enthusiasts through PCA. Just start going to their events and you'll join the local network.

Check out the travel kits that people put together. Do a search and cherry pick for your model year.
ME? AAA tow and cell phone, always. I have a "GO BAG" in the trunk for my needs.
