Friends:
I visited Grady in the hospital this afternoon and I am sorry to report that the news is not good at all. His condition is declining rapidly and the expectations for recovery are very low. He may be moved home soon so if you are considering a visit, I would check with the hospital first to see if he's been discharged. The main number is (720) 848-0000. As for a fund of some sort to benefit Grady, I can tell you that he is comfortable financially and has good health insurance. However, if the Pelican collective would like to do something for Grady, that I know he would appreciate, he has supported a young immigrant family both financially and by providing tutoring and mentoring for a few years. He is currently helping to pay the lion's share of undergrad tuition, fees and expenses of the oldest child, the daughter, who is attending college in the Denver area with the hope of being accepted into medical school someday (really bright!). If there would be enough interest, I can contact Grady's accountants to see if they would be willing to accept checks on his behalf. I can get you an address and a suggestion for a payee.

Grady would be the first to thank all of you for your comments and good wishes. I plan to visit him in the hospital on Friday morning and am printing this thread so that I can read your comments to him there. As Roger said, the plan is to move him back home for hospice care, but his condition is declining.

Well heck. Been close to you for years but never had the privilege of meeting you. Hopefully one day...
May you be blessed with the peace and comfort that can only come from God. Praying for you and yours....

Dear Grady, We have not met yet, but you have helped me out more than I can thank you for. The information I have learned before I started a project, to the "oops" I should have listen or read up on, before making the mistakes and the setting me on the way to correcting my "oops". Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Hope you get well soon and my prayers are with you. Robert
