Post bumped up from the dead.

I did a faux RSR finish on a set of Euromeister 16x7's and they came out pretty great IMO.

Silver is Rustoleum Dull Aluminum, outer lip is the stock machined/polished, black is black

Wow. That came out great. Makes me want to do that.

Do you mind telling us how you sprayed that out? Did you spray the whole wheel but the lip in silver and then tape off the pedals and spray the black or just tape and spray silver?

Originally I wanted to just tape and spray the silver, but I couldn't get some of those inner corners well enough so I ended up having to spray the entire face minus the outer lip, then mask and spray the black.

Could probably work if you could find a good liquid masking tape that you could paint on by hand, I tried a few options on the outer barrel (the part hidden by the tire) to test peel-ability and wasn't satisfied, so I did it the hard way.

Mounted on my 914 project.

Water?

This bugatti guy talks about (min 2:25) painting his fuchs and using water to find the right line to tape/paint.

It's always intrigued me. Since the video is only 4mins...if anyone truly graps how this might work and has any suggestions on execution...I'd love to try it.

I have read that early Fuchs were dipped in paint rather than masked off. Interesting read here.....Restore Fuchs Wheels DIY | Featured Cars | The Motoring Journal

the last comments on the Rota are from 2014. Any quality improvements to report? I want the RSR finish but Euromeister don't do, hence interest in Rota.

$1400 for 4 right now
