Definitely LWB; someone may have put earlier doors on it (vent windows, door handles) years ago. Back then we did a lot of crazy stuff!

There are some guys around here who have breathed life into cars that I was amazed by: this one would take the cake.

As a 'side' I must suggest you stay air-cooled. Some of the beauty behind these cars is the incredible sound they make.

When you consider bringing a car like this back to life, try to go period correct; putting a modern-ish power plant in this car will stand out (in a sore thumb sort of way, in my opinion). ...but then again it's your car/project.

Not much Progress has been made, still striping it down.



I removed the passenger seat its in rather good condition.






Rear seat pans look good.





The rocker panels are surprisingly solid.

Glass removal has been supper easy, well other then the rear passenger wing glass, but more on that later.

Started driver door break down I will need to find a new wing vent glass.





Moving on to whats left of the driver seat.

I found the glove box trim plate under the driver seat.



The amount of rust I have removed from this car is astonishing.






I also aired up the driver front tire and it sprung a leak, there must have been a gallon of water in there.





Is it safe to store glass like this?

Made some room for more parts.








Removed the dash pad and found this.

Finished the driver door. Now I need to buy the correct triple square bit set to remove the doors.




Dissembled and removed the duck tail and proceeded to install it on my other car.






looks like it had gold lettering.





I tried cleaning them up, but it looks like they tried to sand then down before painting them. The 911E does not look to bad however the P.O. had been sanded through in spots.

Where I stopped tonight.

Hopefully this weekend I will finish striping it down. Then I will start building a car rotisserie for it, before I start media blasting it.

For now, don't unbolt the door hinges-- just pull the pins out. You'll want to preserve as much of the original panel fit (did I just say that?) as possible.

Would it be wise to weld in some cross supports as well?

Great to see the effort being put in to something
many would consider too far gone. If you decide to keep it all
original, it could be quite profitable considering you're doing all
the metal fab....
