Loved the pic of the shop vac full of rust, and the caption:
"The amount of rust I have removed from this car is astonishing". Should have read: "The amount of CAR that has been removed by RUST is astonishing". Looks like you might end up with the worlds tallest 911. Bob B |

Fantastic!
As others have said, good on you for having the courage, and determination for taking this on, they can all be saved, its just a matter of how much time, effort, and money you have to throw at it! ![]() As for those of you who have said, sell it on, what would the new owner do with it ? probably the same as this guy is trying to do, and you would probably then say the same to that person too!Give him a break, he needs positive input here, he's already commited himself to the work he has done so far, and he seems pretty determined. I say; Good luck with it, and keep the updates coming. ![]() A.

This project went sideways in post #112. I may be wrong and I hope I am, because I would love to see how this ends. Unfortunately, it most likely ends with the remains of both cars being parted and the rest sold as scrap. Cutting something up is the easy part, reassembling is the hard part.

I'm bringing this Build back from the dead, However I want to apologies Before I get started as I have abandoned the 70E. Do to many reasons manly do to rust and finding a cowl panel mine was to far gone to repair. I searched for a over a year and found a few but not any that was worth the price as I could buy a rust free shell for what they wanted for a complete cowl panel. ( I ended up buying a rust free Shell A 83 SC targa.)
![]() But thats not why I stopped posting I started doing research on another forum as the front suspension no matter what I tried I could not get the boxster suspension to work in the front of it. So I decided to tube frame the front end and convert it to double wishbone cantilever suspension as it would solve all my suspension problems. My plan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() So I started collecting parts for the double wishbone cantilever conversion and started making a few prototypes. prototype 1 ![]() prototypes 2 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() More info found here Boxster tube frame/ chassis ideas? - 986 Forum - for Porsche Boxster Owners and Others |

I also bought a Fiberglass RS body kit hood fender bumpers etc.
![]() ![]() But I stilled needed a cowl panel. I need the cowl panel to do the last fitment of the 911 body to the boxster chassis so I could get all my suspension measurements finalized. So I was at a stand still as I could not go any further with out one. So a few months past and I was really missing my jeep at this point, as I sold it to fund the build. So while I was at a stand still I decided to buy another jeep. That was a big mistake. My plan was to buy a fixer upper and drive it as I built it well nothing is ever simple with me. The new jeep ![]() ![]() I went to install new floor pans ![]() ![]() And this happened ![]()

which lead to this
![]() ![]() The full build here 1978 CJ7 Wish I bought a Tow Rig Buildish Thread? Warning lots of pics! - Page 6 - JeepForum.com Now back on track So I ended up buying a 83SC tub a few months ago as I was done waiting to find a good cowl panel and I decided to go another direction on how I was going to accomplish building a midengine 911. I never stopped researching and coming up with different ideas on how I was going to build it. The new tub ![]() ![]() I started buy modding the rotisserie I built for the 70E ![]() ![]() ![]()

I then started swaping over all the parts to make room for the new shell
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() As you can see there was nothing left of the 70E ![]() So I cut it up to make room ![]() ![]() ![]()
