Options for SC side rocker panels?

Last night I took the side rocker panels off my '83 SC because I'm replacing the torsion bars and I had to take them off for access.

I've always liked the cleaner look of the longhood sides. I've thought about adding a silver "Porsche" side script before but personal opinion it looks funny with the rubber trim on SCs.

What are my options without going too far down another rabbit hole?

I have nothing on the rockers, but did you fix your oil leaks yet?

SC Rockers.........

I never liked the SC rocker panel trim so when I had the car painted, I had the screw holes plugged and left them off. The oil lines and a/c lines were a bit obvious without the rocker covers so I painted them a semigloss black. This helps the under car bits to not be so obvious.

Fred,

So you painted the rocker covers or the oil and a/c lines?

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy car parts which is kind of the same thing.

I deleted the rocker covers and blacked out the oil and a/c lines.

I agree. I like the clean look of no rocker panels. Also painted the oil lines black.

I really like the rocker delete look , my only concern is the exposed oil /ac lines being damaged. Has anybody had this issue after delete ? I guess it would also be possible to fabricate a unobtrusive shield and paint. Or get spendy on stainless lines.

Some think that the body looks like it's too high without rockers. Search the forum, there's st least one other thread where this is discussed. One ingenious owner made his own out of aluminum, they're simple and follow the contour of the doors nicely. Very Magnus walker-like.
