FWIW, be careful with box's (beer case) in the frunk and their hard edges. Hit a pothole and they bounce it can and will dent your frunk hood.

The torsion bar bushings were so worn in my 90k mile 1988 that the front bars had groves ground in them from rubbing steel-on-steel. On a car this old replacing the torsion bar bushings would be high on my to-do list.

Congratulations on your new car! It's a beauty.

Das Shield - these work great and provide good piece of mind.

It's a 7mm bleeder, I used a normal combo wrench, but a U shaped wrench or S shaped wrench would make access easier I think. 7mm Flare wrenches are hard to find, i now have one (Proto makes a 7/8mm flare). Clutch bleed is easy, just access is tough, need a 3rd joint on my arm between elbow and wrist!
Are you sure this is the way it is supposed to be completed? Please correct if I'm wrong, G50 clutch fluid uses the brake fluid and when the brake fluid is flushed the clutch fluid is flushed out. That's the way I've done it for the last 11 years.

Soaz, congrats on the car. I too always wanted one and it took me about a year of searching, looking at and driving cars before I found the one for me. I bought the car that was hanging in my bedroom wall when I was a kid.
If you haven't already, spend the money on the Bentley manual. It's a bit pricey but it will save you a ton of money in being able to do stuff yourself and it will keep you from being bent over by an unscrupulous mechanic because it will help you understand any particular procedure.
You will find that your confidence grows as you tackle more and more projects. Congratulations again on the car, enjoy the ride. It will be some of the most frustrating experiences in your life but the feeling you get when things go right with the car (actually most of the time) will all make it seem worth it.

Flushing the brake fluid from the calipers does not replace the fluid in the hydraulic clutch system. The clutch slave must be separately bled. Search the site for write-ups.

Good call! Thankfully I'm less than a mile from Costco so I take it very easy, but still I would be pissed if I dented it.

Ordering them today. Good call. I'd hate to make permanent damage.

Thank you! I know what you mean. I had done valves on a simple single cylinder KTM, but this was a first for a car so it was a bit terrifying, but once completed it felt great! Every task I take on with this car my confidence grows. I bled the brakes, but I still need to access the clutch bleeder to get that part done!

I ordered up a set of the round brake lights for my 88 911. Arrived today and installed. If this install takes more than 25 minutes you're drinking a lot of beer and that's okay.

I also threw on some brighter LED reverse lights I found online.

Needless to say, I'm VERY happy with these. I feel like everyone else around Scottsdale, AZ is used to the brand new cars ultra bright brake lights and giant cars so I wanted to do anything I could to help be seen in my daily driver!

Install

Running lights. LED on left, original on right, of course.

Brake light actuated. It's immensely brighter to the eye, but the camera only captured it a little.

Reverse Light difference. WOH! It's huge.

Then I put these in the interior. They are bright, but I prefer the yellow "natural" looking light more than the bright white. It almost hurts my eyes, but for now I'm going to leave it.

I like the round tail light LED board, where'd you get it?

I see we both keep an impact bumper porsche & a lifted toyota - you can accomplish anything between the two

PM Spoke to order: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/854989-led-brake-lights.html

Agreed! They are both swiss army knives. Between the two of them you can do every activity!

Replaced the rear oil lines, rear engine mounts, brake pads, air filter and of course the necessary oil change.

Lots of deep creep, then using a cutting wheel to cut the nuts.
Quite the mess.

The much better half organized ALL of the tools. I love an organized garage.

Buddy did an oil change and was there for moral support... and to drink my beer.

Sweet success. A couple drives later there are no leaks.

Well, I added some Shrek ears AKA: Vitaloni Sebring mirrors, yellow fog lights and HID headlights.

Not sure about the clear lens. Maybe too modern for my taste so I got some Fluted lens with the HID kit.

Thanks! I think she did take that one. That was a full day. Helping a buddy with is GX470, working on my Landcruiser and trying to get the 911 ready for the honeymoon roadtrip! Good times!

Thanks, Francois makes them. Here is some more info from Renn and Pelican. I just ordered via a Private Message:

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-used-parts-sale-wanted/871881-singer-like-headlights.html
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-used-parts-sale-wanted/870858-fs-singer-like-headlights.html

I kept my order a little more simple than some.
No angel eye DRL, I chose the "warmest" temp HID at 4,300K to keep it somewhat yellow/white, I didn't like the blue look, and then I ordered the clear lens with a set of fluted.

Nice! I love my Vitalonis, like many '90s BMW mirrors, the "flag" mirrors are eye sores (though effective).

Feel free to answer via PM, but what are your thoughts on your era Landcruiser vs an FJ62?

No massive improvements recently. I did install turbo Tie-rods and a bump steer kit last weekend. It's hard to know how bad the bumpsteer in unless you get to drive a car with none!
It's amazing how much nicer the car drives.

Time to get an alignment.

My wife sets up these pretty photos sometimes, but I have a hard time getting over the details. "Honey, that's the old tie-rods and then 1 boot is for the new one and one for the old and ..... well, it's very pretty. Can you get me another beer, I bloodied another knuckle."

Then a bike ride.

Here's the G50 specific clutch article. I just followed it on my '88 and it's pretty good. Ping me if you have any questions. Porsche 911 G50 Clutch Installation | 911 (1965-89) - 930 Turbo (1975-89) | Pelican Parts DIY Maintenance Article
