rain in intake when parked?

Has anyone had rain water collect in the air intake box? I have had my 75 parked outside for a few weeks and wondering if heavy rain could find its way into the combustion chambers and rust things... There was a drain in the intake that has a oil drain in the bottom of the intake that has been siliconed.

Typically? No. For a few weeks? Maybe. Depends on how much of a drench and the water level. Just in case, how about draping a large plastic trash bag on top of the engine? How about parking under cover?

Water would have to get sucked upward 4 inches through the sensor plate and through the throttle valve to get into the engine. Remove the rubber straps around the air filter cover and see if there's any in the lower part.

The trash bag is an easy fix but you have to make sure you won't forget it and get in and crank the car without removing it.
(I once sucked a velocity stack and its air cleaner down onto a carb with the help of a plastic bag. It did keep the snow off it though...)

Put a bag over the steering wheel to remind you otherwise you will have to pull the fan and alternator to pull chunks of bag off the top of the engine.
