semi-solid engine mounts
I've got the engine and tranny out of my car. Replacing mounts of course. Car is 60% Autocross, 30% street, and 10% track days.
Anybody got any experience with either of these products? I'm looking for more rigid then stock, and will accept more rumble, but really don't want race car loud/harsh or squeaky. HD Semi-Solid Engine Mount Set-Rennline, Inc. Hard rubber. http://www.wevo.com/Products/ChassisProducts/WevoChassisProducts-911SSEngineMounts.htm The rep at WEVO says the black compound (polyurethane) is softer. Thanks

You pulled your motor? Now we're talking! Where is the obligatory picture in the engine bay??? It didn't happen without pictures.
![]() Another option is to get the factory sport mounts used in cabriolets. That's what I went with. They are a little stiffer than stock, but not as harsh as some of the aftermarkets.

I went with the Rebel engine mounts, definitely firmer then stock but not annoying. If your street driving is only 30% Im sure these won't be to firm.
Link: Engine *You'll need four 5mm longer mounting bolts as the mount's body is thicker then stock. The two stock big engine mount bolts are fine though. Probably obvious, but make sure to retorque the big bolts after your first few drives.

Wevo blacks on my '88. I noticed no difference in noise or vibration, probably because I took out the originals with 161k on them!

I was torn between the black or blue pillows. The black ones were in my wish list for months then bought the blue ones at the last minute. The originals had about 70k miles on them. I installed the two in the engine bay first. Drove around the block and only noticed very slight increase in noise and vibration. Back into garage and swapped out the tranny mounts. Very noticeable increase in noise. Not engine noise. Gear whine noise a little but more just 'white'. Hard to describe. Hard to have a conversation with normal voice levels. I love engine, intake, exhaust noise and this isn't it. But I guess I still like it because I never switched them back and it's been over a year now. It does 'feel' stiffer. Although I don't know how much placebo effect is involved...
