Anyone know how to adjust window frames?

Is there a guide? I'd love to see if I can reduce the wind noise as I'm hurtling down the highway. Car is a 1969 911. Thanks!

Michael

It's a bit of trial and error.

Most car seems to have a lot of noise where the window frame meets the door at the front edge. Some small felt wedges under the weatherstrip can help tremendously in this area, no amount of window frame adjustment will help here.

Hopefully others will chime in. My experience is to loosen the frame adjustment bolts, and when the window rolls up and down well, you are pretty close. That combined with nice looking gaps when the door is closed....that's about as good as it gets.

See you soon!

Dennis:

Those are the two I have. Did not know how to post them here. Hence the "PM Sent". I offered to e-mail the books to the OP.

I've got most of the stuff I've found on the web stored in a Dropbox for a couple of years now. Easy access from my phone or iPad that way.

On a side note I went to C&C a couple of weeks ago to show you my new restored taga top, but no bus or '73 in sight... It's all your fault... I had to do it after seeing yours.

Sorry about that. Family called and I had to answer. I am trying to be there this weekend. Should we be looking for each other?

the factory service bulletins are fantastic .... the way to get it pretty close is to use a dollar bill...... close the door on the dollar bill in all location and you should feel a tight drag on the bill. If the dollar is too tight, that area might be holding up the door from closing properly and can also cause a leak at adjacent areas. bob
