Fikse or Linea Corsa Fox...?

looking for real life experience on these.....

I am getting a quote of just over $6400 for a set of fikses and I think that linea corsa foxs would be around $2k

for a car that wont ever see a track, is it still worth it to pay three times for Fikses?

The lip on Fikse does seem to look nicer.....

any recommendations ? any bad experience?

The FIkses are much lighter than the Corse, and are available in wider widths and custom offsets. But they ARE $6400. Tire size availability for the wider rims will be an issue in future, as well.

The Fikses with a standard finish are 4500 (standard body fit) with a standard finish and 5900 with an RSR finish. In turbo width with RSR finish they are 6100.00. You can spend less by going with the standard lip profile and that reduces the price of a by 400.00.

Cheers

I don't particular care about weight, what I think is different is the size/shape of the outer lip-the Fikse I think is much nicer, but not sure if worth the extra money.

what I don't want is to buy a wheel that is so fragile I am having to align or balance all the time, or worse yet, something that will literally break.

anyone have the Linea Corse wheels and had good experience? I am not going to drive the car hard like I used to when I was 18 :-)

I have had the Linea Corses and did not have a good experience with them. Have you looked at the Euromeister Fuchs? I have a set of those and find them to be well built.

I've got Fikse Fuchs, though they were Zuffenhaus when I bought them back in 2009/10.

I gotta say I really love them, but I paid lots less as I was kind of an early adopter.

However, I ran into a bit of a problem with them last year. A crack formed from bolt to bolt to bolt around much of the back half of one of my rear wheels. After I got it back from repair, I experienced the same thing on the other wheel about 2000 km (1200 miles) later. They had about 50 000 km (30 000 miles) on them when this all happened. I find it odd that both rear wheels failed so close to each other in miles with no real explanation of what the reason likely was.

Regardless of all that, the wheels have been redesigned a few years ago to more closely align with the existing Fikse product line. As I understand, many of the parts like the rear barrels are the same across the whole product line to ease production and stocking of parts. I expect this sort of problem like I had is unlikely to happen on anything made in the last few years.

Even with this issue I had, if I was looking for new wheels and I had the scratch, I'd probably get the Fikses.

I've had a set of Linea Corse for a little over 3 months. No issues so far and I'm happy with the quality.

Fikse (Zuffenhaus). I think they call this a 'soft lip'.

I have the Fiske and like them. I have the soft lip. I actually had one of the early sets from Zuffenhaus on my 911SC. I sold them and got a set of the Fiske for my 930. I don't know exactly why but for some reason I think I liked the original Zuffenhaus made wheels over the Fiske made wheels. I don't have a hard reason why, but that is just the feeling I have.

I'm having a set of 16in Fuchs cut into 17s by Lindsey. I was thinking about the Fikse too.

actually as I sit and think about it I feel like the original Zuffenhaus wheels had a better or more accurate looking/matching lip that looked more like the original Fuchs and the Fiske have an attempt to "look" like (but don't quite match) the original Fuchs.

Maybe take a look at BRAID - similar to Fikse and less costly?

Why not consider the Lindsey Racing wheels?

Anyone with the Corsa Fox rims with an RSR finish? I just got my set, how are you guys cleaning them?

They appear to have a rough finish to them and don't clean easily.

Did you search on the whole cast wheel thing?

If you dont care about weight and wont be at the track spend the money elsewhere and go with the cast.

Its apples to oranges they dont really compare. One is a high end forged motor sport proven wheel the other is an OEM(ish) quality cast wheel that is not trying to compete with a Fikse or a BBS.

The Fikse's are absolutely drool worthy the other are more of an everyman wheel and 99.9% of the population wont know the difference.....but I will :-)

TOUGH to make the call. I am spending quite a bit of money backdating a 964 Targa "A La Singer" ..... I do think that the Fox lip is a bit big and prominent in most photos I see online while the Fikse seems to almost not have a lip, which I like..... but dishing out an extra $4k+ hurts....
