Dash clock works intermittently/loses time
The analog clock in my '74 only works intermittently. Can't tell if it's just steadily losing time or coming to a complete stop at times, but I believe it's the former. Any suggestions on what parts might be sticking and need to be cleaned?

I just replaced the two 100 uF capacitors in my 82 and it works fine now, it had the same problem of stopping intermittently. There is a very detailed post on the procedure if you search. Sorry I didn't save it.

Idea, take your old clock and pull it from the dash and put it in a box for a future owner. Then buy an old clock, drill a hole in the center of the clock face and install a shift light. I did, awesome.

Wear a watch or use a radio with one or look at your smart phone. Replace the dash clock with a combo Volt meter and head temp gauge. You will appreciate it.....

Nice to know there is a good fix for the clock. I have to say my 1982 clock is probably the most accurate old clock that I have or ever had. I am always surprised its correct! LOL! Cheers..

My 72 clock loses about one minute per day. Is this likely a capacitor issue as well?
Thanks, Hugh
