LWB wiring harness install

hey folks. i'm just about to start installing my wiring harness on my 71 LWB project but unfortunately, i didn't have the luxury to take pics before it was removed. does anyone have any detailed pics of the wiring they can share? looking for pics of the tunnel routing, front trunk and rear engine compartment. links to other pages or videos welcome too!

Also subscribed, I've been looking for the same. I have a collection of pics from different cars, but nothing complete yet.

Sub'd as well. I am presently phiddle-phartin about with a 'customized' to wit: seriously buggered-up wiring system in the trunk. The relationship between what I have (1970) & the schematic (SL35) is coincidental at best.

Cheers

Install is the reverse of removal.
Maybe the OP should connect with the guy that is just removing his harness and get him to take photos and make notes...

unfortuantely the guy pulled the wiring over 2 years ago and is now in jail [facepalm]. i saw that post but it still didn't show where the wiring goes once it's out of the tunnel and how it snakes thru the driver footwell up and behind the dash.

also, looking at my harness theres A TON of wiring bundled up front and less out back. that's why i'm assuming there's a trick to getting it thru the tunnel and slid up in that passenger side channel. seems counter intuative right now and need some help.

It goes in through the back
But, you have to undo everything up front that the back harness hooks up to.
I just pulled mine, had to undo the back stuff at the fuses. Then one line hooks to a gauge. It was a PITA.

I would imagine it's going to be very difficult with the floor in. I'm going to run a pull wire. It also slides in its own wiring tunnel within the tunnel. I'll have a picture of this soon, I'm pulling my floor now

A new harness is much easier to pull through since the wires aren't all kinked. I have installed a couple of Dennis' harnesses and pulling them through the tunnel is pretty easy. use a chase wire or fish tape and use that pull everything else through.

The tunnel pictures are good, but were already posted in several threads. What would be better would be to see where the harness runs out of the tunnel to the fusebox. There were some good pics in the blog by Mike Caterino, but unfortunately it's no longer up. I also had a good picture of the engine compartment without the engine, but it went into hiding.

Remake your wire harness:

These pictures are reproduced mostly from auctions and without really asking, so if you're the owner and unhappy, then pm me and I'll take them off

Tape everything up like a long snake tight in a line. Pull it in from the back with a rope you route through the tunnel. The through body harness splits up behind the dash into 3 main sections. One to the dash gauges, one to the rear defogger, fog lamp switch, lighter area, one to the fuses.
Don't forget the wires to the brake pedal switch if you have one.
No idea what stage your car is in, so it is hard to offer suggestions...
Maybe post some photos of what you are working with.
