Call the paint supplier and ask for a shop recommendation?

Go to the glasurit site and find the retailers section, punch in your zip and the world will be yours.

Sorry to hear that. Environmental restrictions maybe?
On a similar comical note: when I was hunting a painter I came across this guy who told me he'd painted Porsches for thirty years, when I mentioned glasurit he asked me what that was.

You must have misunderstood him, he probably said "porches".

Most of them are in the UK area and Euro area as well...Hardly anywhere in US - Maybe very limited supplier in the USA area? Love those Glasurit - They are FAR superior paint quality that lasts more than 40 years and still retains luster gloss!
Plenty on eBay as you can check out eBay link: |

The deal is there are EPA US restrictions and California restrictions on paint. I am probably simplifying but there are blanket rules then geographic overlay rules. Fortunately for Tim, San Mateo was outside of the stricter rules and fell under US regulations AND, most importantly, the jobber had a robust 22 line business feeding restorations. He did not have to wait for this or that base color. I know that Sacramento and Stockton are restricted. My Akron jobber has 22 line but given the lack of product movement they wait for an order, see what base colors they have and then you pay up front for those they don't have. Well, you pay for your order then they order what is needed. Takes several weeks. Tim will remember the jobber's name.

there are some porsche specific shops in monterey that use and mix 22 line. i was going to try and work thru one of them but i ended up using 90 line on my last car.
i can't remember who the shops are but you might root around and see if you can find out. by the airport if memory serves. apparently they can still use single stage paint there, haven't banned it yet. it's a regional thing. i wasn't able to find anyone to source 22 line from... |

Finishmaster San Carlos referred me to Finish Master South San Fran, neither of whom carry it any more. They referred me to Industrial Finishes in Concord, who can get it but does not do any mixing. They referred me to East Bay Color in San Jose (the best option as it's 2 miles from my house) - talked to John there who was very helpful. They don't do mixing any more but he offered to help get the components and mix if I really needed the help. They have the reducers and hardeners so just need to get the guards red and some purple tinter that I used to darken it up a bit. John tried to convince me to go with the 90 line or Onyx, both of which are a base/clear technology. I really only need to do a refresh and touch up some areas where I was lax the first time around, door panels are not perfectly flat and a few other odds and ends. Open to suggestions here though... It's a very slippery slope and I've considered stripping it (again) and doing over in the original Olive color but really don't have the time any more. Now I need to find a paint booth in the south bay :-) Bill |
