Center Vent Help
I have a 1977 Porsche 911. I seem to be having an issue with the center vent. It doesn't fit flush. It has open spaces on all sides. Do I have the right vent? If not can anyone help me please? Thank you.

You need a next generation air vent
You can pick up a used vent here on the boards and it'll snap right in.....you're gonna like it. Bigger is better, particularly in So. Cal
![]() Sell the smaller one to a guy with an SC or Carrera through 1985 Scott

BTW: you can also pop the ashtray out, sand, tape and paint the metal lip.....it'll look great.
Just sayin ![]()

I'm not that familiar with the dimension/geometry of the larger vent insert. Does it require the metal opening behind the actual dash cover to be large enough for the plastic housing to be inserted? If so, the '77 dash opening will be too small.

If the dash is a later Carrera then you will also need the later hose adapter piece and seal as well as the vent.

the original OP should take the vent out and see.
Most of the time if someone updates their dash they already cut the metal to fit the newer vents. Ivan

Where is the hose that connects to that vent though? I have a 75 that I am about to put a Carrera vent in, like you now have. I am interested in finding/seeing the piece that hook the round hose from the blower onto the back of this vent?
