James Burner
Emailed me from the Pelican list today about a WTB part - using jamesburner246@gmail.com. Not knowledgeable enough about the parts to be very dangerous - but very persistent, and very very suspicious.

All - having posted just a single WTB ad, I have learned a lot. I have been a long time forum user on other platforms, mostly BMW related. It’s become clear that WTB ads are ripe for these scammers. (May be obvious to some, but it seems like folks have gotten more crafty since I’ve been in the forum parts exchange game).
My latest was from user Ireland98, was sent a great photo that I cannot find anywhere else online of the part I was looking for, offered it for a reasonable price. Had decent and prompt communication but again refused PayPal and said he would do Zelle. Don’t love that but I’m not opposed to the month long process of getting $$ back from B of A if I get scammed. Any any event, no tracking number sent, refused to send tracking until I send more $$ as package was more expensive than anticipated. Provided random photo of a FedEx box… needless to say they are gone from communication now and I’m trying to retrieve $$. They need to be banned as I’ve been watching their user profile and they are always “private messaging”. And their 4 posts are weak - should have done some more homework on my end - shame on me. I’ll get the $ back but want to save others the time and stress. Thanks All!

Theo Phil Pelican Parts Forums - View Profile: Theo Phill He will send you pictures of what you’re looking for he pulled off the forums / the internet and will then ask you to send payments in multiple installments to nancynjeru122@gmail.com via paypal. Of course via ‘family & friends’ option. During the entire process he will point out how stressed you are making him feel and will react irritated when you ask any questions about the odd payment requests / for more proof. |

Pretty certain ortoment is a scammer. Replied to my WTB boot cover ad and sent me a picture of a full cover. When I said sorry I am looking for a boot cover, he sent me a picture of the boot cover from an online seller. No reply when I sent him the link.
Always run pictures through google images!! Some people just suck. |

Wellk3881 is a complete fraud - he offered a set of Ampliluxes for sale for $400 (and we know they’re as rare as hens teeth) on here and I’d been emailing John Audette about wanting some and John sent me the link to his ad. I sent him a PM offering $350 including shipping to the UK, which he (surprisingly) accepted and I paid him by PayPal - but stupidly I agreed to pay by Friends and Family as everyone seems to be wanting to avoid PP fees nowadays. I know I should have checked out how many posts he’d made etc, and insisted on paying by PP Goods and Services (and paying his fees if necessary) but I didn’t, and went ahead and paid him.
He was communicating regularly on Whatsapp with me about my address etc and then started dragging his feet about not being able to get to the post office again (where he’d supposedly left the parcel but not paid for the postage yet) due to work commitments, and then messaged me to say he’d discovered the shipping cost to the UK was a lot more than he was expecting, partly because the items are fragile and the shipping box is large. I then - I know, stupidly - agreed to send him another $100. I then noticed he’d bumped his ad for the lights after I’d paid him and asked him what he thought he was doing and that he should have changed the post to sold. He apologised and duly did amend his post, and removed the picture (which was probably an image he’d grabbed off Google), but I had screenshotted his post before he did so). This really got me wondering whether he was a fraud as you can imagine. After another week of delay he finally confirmed he had done an online customs declaration and that the lights had been shipped but would send me the tracking number when he was next able to get to the post office, which was over a week ago, and has since failed to reply to any of my messages asking for the tracking number. I have told him I am going to report him on here as a fraud and a scammer today and have had no reply. I therefore feel I have been scammed out of $400 and won’t be getting that back (we all make mistakes) but I just wanted to add my experience of this guy - his name on PayPal is Kinyavu Kyondo by the way - so that others don’t make the same stupid mistake as I did. Scammer in Seattle/Tacoma
I just got scammed for $250 for Bentley and Porsche manuals by Onemore or someone who hacked the account.
Beware the following: Zachary Kosanovich m_nightflame999@yahoo.com dorothalaconteoll33@gmail.com “laconte dorotha” After seller asked for F&F, I checked the posts by Onemore and they looked good so I sent the money. Edit: Add another email address: david.valverde.martinez@gmail.com 12/28/21 Edit. I got my $ back! Patience, persistence, having access to good data. Yay!
