Pair of Recaro Rallye II seats with sliders
For sale is a very hard to come by matching pair of Recaro Rallye II seats , Drivers and Passenger with matching sliders . These are circa early ‘70’s.
I am not sure if these were sold in the US but I looked for over a year before I ended up breaking down and importing these from Europe. These are the same model of seat that Magnus Walker used in his STR Build and Singer had Recaro take this design and make an updated version of these that he uses in some of his builds. Price is $4250 + Shipping from Shingle Springs , Ca ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

hi anderson, the recaro rallye 2 was presented to the public for the first time at the motomechanica exhibition in frankfurt in october 1973. from 1974 it was sold in shops. your two seats are different years of construction - there were 2 series. the driver's seat is the older one (1974- ca. 1976) your passenger seat was made later. they look the same because the cover (at least the center panel is no longer original). these seats were never available as an option for porsche 911 (compared to the predecessor rallye 1). the seats were an aftermarket accessory. Hope I could help a bit. regards uwe

OP - I have read that your waistline cannot exceed 32" if you want to sit in these comfortably. Would you say this is accurate? Very nice seats, would love for my 74 S.

I had such seats in my 1967 911S 30 years ago and I always enjoyed sitting in them. further trips to Italy etc. everything without any problems.
For the installation in your 1974 g-model I still have suitable original brackets from Recaro. if interested please pm. regards uwe Last edited by bucketcollector; 04-18-2022 at 10:11 AM.. |

I would say 32 to 33 inches would be about right. I’m 5’9 175 and fit with a 34” waist I would fit better if I dropped a few pounds.
St classics makes light weight reproduction brackets. This company makes the replacement light weight brackets to mount these. I bought them for my 911 ST project. They make quality parts it’s about $220 a set. Last edited by glerbone; 04-18-2022 at 10:40 AM.. |

@anderson: these brackets are for 911s built up to 1973. In addition, these are not foldable.. so please check carefully whether they also fit in 1974. regards uwe

The sliders are correct for the seats . If these are going into a G body you may want to check with UWE for original brackets . My 1983 G body is in the paint shop or I could verify if the reproduction ST Classic brackets will work in a G body

Hello Anderson, I'm sorry if I write again in your sales thread, but it probably also helps your sales: the rails fit on ALL brackets, of course. that's what these are made for. the question then is which brackets fit in which car and there are differences between the f-model and the g-model(distance of the screws) . That's why the buyer of your seats has to make sure that they have the correct brackets, otherwise the installation will not be plug and play. but every vehicle owner will know that. I hope I was able to clarify that now. sorry, again if my remarks bothered you. I'm holding back on writing here now. luck with the sale! regards uwe

@Uwe or OP - can you shed light on how to tell the difference between the 2 generations of Rally 2 seats? Uwe mentioned the driver side being gen.1.

Visually they look identical. The release mechanism has a 3” longer lever on the passenger side.
Other than that visually they are absolutely identical |

You called that right. Thanks. Already wasted a whole day with one scammer. I just want the real seller to contact me to discuss possible purchase.

Best to send them a PM with your contact rather than posting publicly. I'd remove your number from both your posts asking if these types of seats are still available to avoid further contact from scammers.
