FS: Edelbrock 1405 mounted SC large port intake induction
This is a custom mount allowing a 4 barrel carb to be bolted on the top of CIS intake runners. Great for seeing if an engine will run or Bolt on and GO. Came on a 79 SC engine I purchased. Edelbrock 1405 currently installed. You can see the video here:

That’s awesome!! I’d love to see a dyno comparison of that set up to a regular CIS.

That is pretty wild, yet simple. Is that a one-off casting or it that something that was offered for retail sale?
With an electric choke that would probably work even better. Imagine, no more WUR, thermo time switch, AAV, cold start valve or fuel distributor to worry about and troubleshoot.... |

I applaud the effort and the innovation but it doesn’t sound so good in the video.
Perhaps it can be tuned to run better. But as is…

Farmer racing had a cool one with a Holley double pumper on a race car. It was pretty cool actually!
I wonder if this type of setup would work well with the holley sniper EFI setup! GLWS! |

Oh definitely tuning can be done. The vid was only to show it works. It was thrown onto an unknown engine. I did an ok rebuild on the carb, but not professional.

It would be a great idea to put a self-tuning EFI throttle body (like the Holley Sniper EFI kit). Good luck with the sale.

Edelbrock and Aces EFI also make relatively low cost complete throttle body EFI systems. The difference is that theirs use port injection, so you could use the stock injector location (with adapter inserts that are available) and use modern, low cost electronic injectors.
