Std/ Std 2.8 / 3.0 RSR Crank

The real deal. $4500. Never in a racing engine. Came out of a 2.7 CIS car. Near perfect condition.
Trades considered

Henry , did porsche used leftover RSR stock on random 2.7 cis motors ? What is the difference between this crank and the standard issue 2.4/2.7 crank . Just trying to learn something here . Thanks in advance for your reply .

I rarely say never but in this case I feel certain that Porsche never used the RSR crank in a street 2.7 CIS engine.
The differences are many but in general the RSR crank uses rods that are closer to 3.0 rods than a 2.7. The fly weights are thicker making the rod journal is narrower. The journal are also larger in diameter with huge radii so a special rod bearing is required. Note the large holes suuounding the crank plug. This was an attempt to remove weight without compromising the strenght of the crank.

So I suppose that they had a RSR race CIS motor ? You said its from a CIS engine correct ? Please explain . Thanks ,

The factory never installed RSR cranks in production CIS engines. That would mean that someone other than the factory installed it. I'm not certain of the reasoning but I would suspect that whoever installed it didn't know what they had.
