'80 911 SC Targa Value
I've noticed that there's no lack of opinions here. So here's my question: a friend has offered his 1980 Targa to me. Hre's had it since new, and it does look excellent. All records, etc. No dings, dents, exc. interior as well. No rust. It has 139K on it, never abused. Grey over black, first quality repaint; back to metal. What is it worth?, considering what I've said. Oh, it runs and shifts strong.

The SC market is in the toilet, especially the Targas. I've passed on lower mile cars with original piant for less than $10K.
Based on what you have mentioned, a repainted Targa with 139K on the clock, hopefully you are getting the friends deal. If not, I would stay away from it. There is a sea of SC and Carrera cars out there right now. Derek |

I would say it depends upon where you are. Car-eras is probably correct for Cali. But, then again, there is a glut of Aston-Martins out there
. For the rest of us, if you know the history, the trans is strong, there are no broken head studs and the clutch and other essentials are fine (in other words, you won't have to dump 2k in it right off) then I would say that Randy is closer. I guess, uiltimately, its up to how much it is worth to you. Besides, I would hope the friend isn't looking to hose you, right??
