Dansk 3.2 S/S Sport Muffler, Big Tip

Dansk S/S Sport muffler. All stainless (except for inlet flange), single-in with single large 84 mm (3.25") tailpipe. Bought it brand new, will ship in the original box. The bottom side of the tailpipe is scraped from low driveways. It's still round, just has a gouged flat spot on the bottom (you can't see it when installed). The bottom backsides on the ends are sandblasted by debris from the rear wheels, more evident on the tailpipe, but again not visible when installed. The flash makes it look worse than it is. The rest of the muffler looks great, just some marks from the straps. Dansk calls this a "polished stainless" muffler but it never was highly polished, more like a satin finish. The tailpipe is a heavier gauge and is fully polished. A little more elbow grease and it could look even better.

Includes a new flange gasket, some used S/S & brass flange hardware, and even a free Dansk pen! Also have some good used straps if you need them.

Fitment: per Dansk, all 1978-89, so it fits 3.0 & 3.2

dave careful not sure if it fits sc as the inlets for sc's are 1 1/4 shorter then a carrera maybe dansk man can answer its fittments.

Thanks Ben. But that's straight out of Dansk's own catalog, from the label on the box, and from Pelican's catalog. I think there's enough tailpipe length to accomodate either application; it would just stick less far out on a 3.0. I will ask Mike (Danskman) if I can catch him.

Here's a scan from Dansk's catalog. This muffler is the last item on the page. Obviously the "930" reference is wrong, but it does appear that this fits 3.0 and 3.2.

Regarding backpressure, the inlet is the same size, there is different/less internal baffling, and the tailpipe is larger. There's definitely less back pressure but nothing like a change to SSIs or headers. You still have the standard heater boxes and catalyst (if you still have that installed). BTW, Dansk's catalog says "up to 20 more HP" but that's optimistic, unless you also change to the Euro premuffler and change the chip.

Regarding sound, that's pretty subjective and can be hard to describe. It's louder than stock, maybe 10-15%? , but not in an raspy, annoying way. Just deeper and throatier. It's got a great throaty sound at idle, a bit deeper through the midrange, screams a bit more at wide open on the top end. It's somewhere between stock and the louder mufflers, like GHL, B&B, Monty or M&K.

I also had this installed with the Dansk Euro-style premuffler, which is a bit louder than the cat, so that's a factor too.
