Hey Kevin, How do the E pistons measure out. Are the ring lands in spec? I am interested in both the pistons and cylinders. I'll be gone all day today but will get back to you this evening (Sat.)

Kevin,
I am interested in the cylinders and perhaps pistons. Can you provide me with the following specs for the cylinders: Standard size ? (0,1 or 2) Height Group ? (found inside the triange) Inner Diameter measurements in X&Y directions at the top and bottom of the piston travel. I am interested if they're well in spec

I checked the ring lands on the pistons, the top and middle lands all checked out to .127mm. Wear limits are .2mm for both.
As for the cylinders it appears I have 2 different hight groups, 4 cylinders are group 5, and the other two are group 6. All are standard size 0. I can't find my bore guages so I'll have to take them to the machine shop to have them checked out. Hopefully they will be open on the 27th. Here are some pics of the pistons. Thanks Kevin P.S. Offers are welcome ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

how much difference is there between the height group 5 and 6 cylinders? can they be machined to match? Lowered prices on cams and heads by $100ea.

Per Waynes book the height groups dims, for 2.2/2.4, are as follows.
Group 5 = 85.400 - 85.425 Group 6 = 85.425 - 85.450 Note: Also there is a note that says " all cylinders installed on one side of the engine to be same height group". This implies that it's ok practice to have 5's on one side and 6's on the other. Never have done this or heard of it being done, but maybe someone else can chime in.
