Running euro 930 core, 964 built long block core
Selling both of these engines as cores.
#1: This is the engine that came out of my '83 930. The car is grey market, so i have every reason to believe this is a euro motor. The car had just over 45k on the odometer, which according to the paper and dmv records, appears to be accurate. Before my ownership, it was unfortunately sitting for about 10 years. As a result, it developed some oil leaks in the cam towers and the case, so while it runs, it will require a rebuild. A few months ago, i posted some issues about smoking under boost - turns out it was a result of a bad ground to the fuel enrichment system, which was rectified and the car ran much better. I did have a leakdown test done by Bauer Porsche Repair in Oakland, Ca, which showed an average of 3-5%. Selling the engine for what i believe it's worth - $4k. What you see in the pictures is what you get. Would prefer not to ship, local pickup in Santa Clara (thats CLARA, NOT CLARITA), CA...or i'll drive within 150 miles for the price of gas. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() #2: I bought the engine from this fellow pelican a while ago through this listing: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-used-parts-sale-wanted/577635-3-6-twin-turbo-engine-sale.html He gave me a haphazard receipt from when the engine was built by Protomotive, but it didnt really show much, because he later had the engine torn down again and replace the pistons with 993 turbo units, the new barrels, pauter rods, and the gt2 evo cams. Unfortunately, my wife threw away the receipt in a cleaning frenzy. However, the description remains the same from the original posting. "It has ported heads. EVO GT2 cams (not regrinds), Pauter Rods, factory 3.6 Mahle turbo pistons, niro ringed heads. Valve job , ARP stud kit ETC. " I'm listing it as a core because, while the original seller claims it only had a couple thousand miles on it post rebuild, the leakdown test recently performed (at 9elf Motorsports in Santa Rosa) was less than favorable, in my opinion. #1 - 10% #2 - 5% #3 - 15% #4 - 7% #5 - 7% #6 - 15% I'm not sure if the rings need to be seated again, since the motor was re-assembled just before i bought it. It does have new gaskets, but is missing 1 valve cover gasket. As much as i hate to take a hit this big, i'd rather underpromise and overdeliver on the engine. So, I'm asking again, what i see the value of the parts being worth: $6500. I'd rather this went to a local buyer, but would consider shipping. note: since pictures, the ports have been plugged with paper towels, and taped over so nothing gets in. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks for looking... |
