Bob-

FYI- in the last month 2 complete sets of USED Turbo Calipers, that looked "really used", both sets independently sold for over $2600.
Yours are brand new, with $1000. worth of rotors!
Not to mention all the brake lines, and hardware.

I sold a used set a few months back for $2000., which was too low.

HOWEVER, the guys at Emery back when I reasherched putting this set up together claimed they had a car running 15" wheels w/ req'd backspace and they cleared...
Well, I just happen to have a loose 930 strut with caliper handy (for my 914-6GT clone) and a loose factory 8X15 Fuch

Yes, these will fit under a 15" rim - I think they are the only big brake upgarde that will. Most other needs 16" rims. That said, you may need a spacer to clear the fins or shave the fins down a bit - it was a pretty tight fit on my 70E with 7/8 Fuchs and RS flares.

I remember that Pelican had these listed last year where there was news from Porsche that they were available again. I just checked and Pelican only lists one rear caliper as still being available - maybe Porsche sold out of their batch?

A few years back I was in Germany and stopped by the factory parts area to see if they had the OEM 78-79 floating rotors in stock. This was back when they cost about $800 a side and were generally unavailable over here. The parts guy was quite apologetic - yes, they were listed as a currently available part number, but Porsche only ordered a batch periodically from Brembo and there was no ETA for delivery. It took about 2 years before they were restocked, thankfully at a lower price.

Regardless of these being NLA / out of stock with no ETA / or available from Germany, by the time you add up OEM calipers, OEM rotors, aftermarket brake hats, machining of rear calipers, hoses, and misc parts, this is a pretty decent deal and everything you need in one purchase instead of tracking parts down all over the place.

Good luck with the sale.

you hit the "Caliper" on the head Andrew...a lot of value here and at significant savings...I have $5300 into these parts believe it or not...
I have had several offers to just buy 2 rotors or all the calipers or 2 calipers and I want to sell this as 1 kit so someone can save a lot of $$, time & agravation figuring this all out themselves...I was advised by Bill Verberg & others back several yrs ago on this subject...Bill is the resident brake, wheel expert here on pelican as well as a moderator = he really knows his stuff...

Long story short, I bought all that I was told to in order to make this brake upgrade all Porsche or better...

Still available...

Thx again... Bob

Yep, that is why I have a set for my 914-6GT Clone, so I can run my 8&9X15 Fuchs, I plan on doing the same thing to my 78 SC..

I may have to unsubscribe to this thread, because it keeps reminding me how dumb I am for not buying these and to stop trying to piece together used stuff. Anyone need some Mahle gas burners to help fun my purchase of this great brake package deal?

several pm's & emails from EUROPE on these parts...I guess these are not in stock ANYWHERE after all...l cannot stress enough how sweet a set up this...if you have even an inkling of thought about maybe wanting to use these on a car you have now or want to get in the future, I would buy these & shelve them...you can always sell whenever...I am only selling because I need the $$ & I KNOW I AM GOING TO REGRET SELLING THEM AS I ALREADY DO REGRET THIS...

pm answered nsman...
let me know...
Thx, Bob

For the record, I have these same calipers on my 70t (With 3.5" spacing) and they clear deep 6's. That said, I had so sand off the outer dia of the calipers and and grind some little parts on the back of the wheels. Took some work but they are awesome. I could have also just used spacers or groung off some of the fins like others have suggested but I didnt want to do that. Any even though my calipers were new from Porsche, by the time I bought rotors, pads, rotor hats etc, I was over $5k.

2 things:

1- Question for everyone. I have never seen the calipers with gold Porsche lettering before. I have 2 sets sitting here, and like every 930 I have owned or seen, they have all had white lettering. I must add that the calipers look great with the gold lettering matching the fresh hardware.

2- Scott.. You did a lot of talking. Did your new 930 brakes ever come in?
I have had experience with things that this that lead me to believe that is a pipe dream. BUT you were quite insistent so the least you can do is share your results with us.
