I have these on the hood and decklid and they work great. I recently had a release pin break while at the shop and Nick was kind enough to get me a replacement shipped to my door within 3 days. Great customer service!

Thanks!

Same here. When I had it back in the shop yesterday I noticed something. I believe it may have been when the lift was lowering it was bouncing the open hood. The bouncing motion I think is what may have sheared the pin.

Thanks again, love the product!

Any left? I would like one in front and on for the rear ... 930/turbo look

wayner 10-20-2015 09:39 AM

I bought new prop rods from another vendor and within a week threw them away and replaced them with these units.

I also fastened them with 1/4 pins.
(one front lid, one rear lid)

interested in buying 2 front mechanical struts to use on front & back fiberglass lids on 914 GT clone sent you a PM

nameisbauer 10-23-2015 10:29 AM

Not to talk bad about the product, but mine did not work for me on a fiberglass hood. It did its job, and is a quality product, but the hood itself wanted to flex so bad (from only having support on one side) it would damage the hood. In my opinion. Two would work great, but disengaging 2 seems almost impossible, or at least a hassle since one would lock as you unlocked the other. Just warning to fiberglass hood people.
