I bought one of these for my 71 frunk. Very nicely made! I don't have the pins that attach it to the body or the hood. What are people using, a bolt with a hole drilled for a cotter pin? I looked on PP and they are NLA.

356racing 05-07-2015 11:04 AM

RD911T - If you don't have your original pins you can order 999-166-043-02-M100 and 901-351-955-10-M100 from Pelican or you can buy a standard 0.25" pin and clip at Ace hardware.

I did make another batch but have been tied up on some other work so I didn't bump the thread. I can ship these Monday, if anyone is still interested just shoot me a pm or email ntw @ 356racing dot com

Thank you again for the interest and support!

Thought you guys might be interested in this as it has come up in the past. I was working on a SC with a Factory Turbo tail and a bit of filler. This thing weighs a ton! It would not pop up when released so I turned a bigger nub to replace the factory one and support a helper spring. Works like a champ! Now we need to align the hood properly.

Nice product.

Can you tell us each weight for your front and rear mechanical struts?

Thanks,

356racing 07-16-2015 01:56 PM

Hi Bert. I will get an official weight next time I'm in the post office. Thank you for your interest.

Are you going to be selling the hood release helper?

Henry

356racing 07-17-2015 09:15 AM

Hi Henry,

Not planning on selling the hood release helper unless there was some major need that would justify running a few. The spring alone would likely solve most peoples problems and I would be happy to mail you one if you can't find something comparable local. Just PM me your address.

Cheers,
Nick

one for each end?

HI -

are you guys using just one of these for the frunk and one for the rear? Or are you doing two each for front and rear?

I'd like to buy one for the front and one for the rear - pls PM me paypal details! (Or two each if that is the preferred method?).

thx
