Ryan
Saw your E at the Werks and checked out your roof rack there. I am a woodworker and would be interested in a DIY version of the rack. Maybe all the metal parts unfinished? Just an idea. Brook

Sorry I haven't checked this thread much in the last year or two. Yes I am still making these although at a much slower pace than I originally anticipated. I do have one ready to ship though.
With regards to a weld it yourself kit- I don't think one could weld this together from pieces unless you had a roof clip to use as a jig. I weld all of these mounted to a 911 roof I have on stands in my garage. |

Some more recent ones I have made. I am currently using the all metal one on my personal car but I would sell that one as well. The teak one turned out pretty cool but the wood itself was quite expensive.

Ryan,
I'm so glad you still have these available. One of these days I'm going to pull the trigger and get one for my '77. This design looks more appropriate for earlier 911's than others I've seen. Just one guy's opinion. Love the look of the darker wood too! |

How are users locking their racks to their cars?
With only one wingnut per side, I would not be comfortable leaving my rack very long unattended. |

The thought doesn't cross my mind when I have mine on but I guess you could take another nut and double nut the wingnut down as a deterrent? If you have a good idea and would like to share it please do, I'm always looking to improve any way I can.

Ryan's product arrived. I would surely recommend. Very nice and looks period correct on my '75 silver anniv... and can't wait on that next style, Ryan.

New price on these racks, I cannot edit the original post but they are now $700 before shipping. While I hate to do this I am forced to adjust to the higher materials cost as well as try to make this a little more profitable. I get a lot of enjoyment out of making these but covering my expenses is also an important part of keeping this afloat.
