San Diego Mechanic for my 1968 912 Targa?

I live in San Diego (north county). I just bought a 68 912 Targa on BAT. It was delivered last week. It runs, but backfires, and needs some mechanical TLC - plus fixing a broken fuel gage, oil temp gauge, tail lights and blinkers. This is my first vintage Porsche (I've owned 3 new 911's). I'm looking for a trusted mechanic who can not only help me keep the car on the road for weekend driving, but possibly do some needed restoration over time.

My two current leads are:
* Stefan at Rancho Motor Sports in RSF. They can take the car next week.
* Mark at Performance Independent Porsche (we are playing phone tag).

I called a few other shops who either did not call back or don't have the time to take my car until November.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

This, John is a legend and helped me immensely with my wife's 68 912. 100% where I would take mine.
